Trying to connect to an Azure SQL database but keep getting this error:
Credentials are missing or not valid. inner exception: The credentials provided for the SQL source are invalid.
I know the credentials are correct because I can connect via SSMS. Any ideas what is causing this error?

Could you please share a bit more about the error message within your app?
Based on the error message that you mentioned, it seems to tell that there is something issue with the Azure SQL Connection you created in your app.
Please check if the Azure SQL connection you created within your app is invalid. Please consider re-create a new connection to your Azure SQL Server from your app with your proper credentials, then try it again, check if the issue is solved.
Also please consider clear cache of your browser, then sign in your PowerApps again, check if the issue is fixed.

I did follow the instructions in that article and I can connect to the Azure SQL database with the provided credentials using SSMS. However in PowerApps, I get this error:

I am connecting using SQL credentials:
PASSWORD: samepassword that worked for ssms
Not sure what i am doing wrong.

Currently, I could not reproduce your issue on my side. Please check if you have typed a proper Server Name (which obtained from your Azure SQL Database instance) when you created a connection to your Azure SQL Database.

If the issue still exists, please consider remove your Azure SQL Database instance from your Azure portal, then re-create a new one based on this article. Then create a connection to your new Azure SQL Database from your app, check if the issue is solved.
