How to patch images from collection to sharepoint

Currently trying to patch an image from an "addmedia" button that creates an image record in the collection. The image however isn't uploading to my connected sharepoint list.

ForAll(prebook, Patch(submittedprebook, Defaults(submittedprebook), {Title: Title, vendor: vendor, promomth: promomth, shipperupc: shipperupc, Compupc: Compupc, compdescr: compdescr, qty: qty, cost: cost, offinv: offinv, scanb: scanb, image: image}))

I keep getting an error "image: The specified column is generated by the server and can't be specified"

Re: How to patch images from collection to sharepoint

Hi @gmarschner ,

Do you want to upload image to SharePoint via Add Picture control?

Could you tell me whether you want to upload to a SharePoint list or SharePoint Library?

1、If you want to upload to a SharePoint Library:

After you saving the image as a collection, the image will be convert to a string like: "appres://blobmanager/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/xxxxxxxxxxxx/x".

So if you want to upload the image column in SharePoint list from the collection, you need to convert the string to a format of picture/URL.

You can use Microsoft Flow to convert the string and save it in SharePoint.

Here is the doc for your reference:

2、If you want to upload to a SharePoint List, using Add Picture control is not supported in PowerApps currently. You can also choose to use Attachments control instead of Add Picture control. You just need to insert an Edit Form, choose the field of attachments. In this way ,you could upload image to the column of attachments in SharePoint list directly, no need to convert format.

Hi @v-yutliu-msft,

Thanks for the reply, I am trying to upload an image from the collection to a sharepoint list.

But based off your response this might not be feasible, correct?

Re: How to patch images from collection to sharepoint

Hi @gmarschner ,

I'm afraid the answer is Yes.

1、If you insist on using Add Picture control to upload images, you could only use Flow to update images to a SharePoint Library.

2、If you insist on uploading images to a SharePoint list ,you could only use Attachments control to update to SharePoint list's attachments column.
