LookUp Columns and PowerApps are not best friends, that is not a secret. So I sat down and made a video that shows you how to recreate the functionality without all of the battlings. Let me know what you think.

This video is really great. Unfortunately I think a lot has changed in PowerApps forms since this video was produced. The Y axis issue is no longer an issue. DataCards can longer be dragged to new positions. And something has changed related to the dropdown selection being saved back to the SharePoint list. From the content in this video I have not been able to make a successful save of the selected dropdown item back to the list even after devoting a considerable amount of time to the issue.
It also looks like that Microsoft has changed the "Default" property. When I attempt to use thisitem.title I receive an error: "This formula uses scope that is not presently supported for evaluation."
