✏️ Write Back from Power BI using Power Apps

    ‎04-11-2022 05:46 AM

    Hello everyone,

In this video, I will show how to write back data to the data source from Power BI by using the Power Apps Visual.

Video tutorial shows how to add, update & delete data in data source directly from Power BI report by using the Power Apps Visual.

✅ Actionable Insights in Power BI with Power Apps

✅ Pass data from PBI dataset to App

    ✅ CRUD Operations from App

✅ Refresh Power BI Visuals from App (Import & DirectQuery)

The Power App will connect to the data source and perform the Write Back (CRUD) Operations. We will leverage SharePoint as Data Source and perform the writeback. I will also demonstrate how to leverage Dataverse for Write Back. Dataverse & SQL Support DirectQuery Import mode. This allows the Power App to initiate a near real time refresh of the Power BI Visuals from Power Apps by use the PowerBIIntegration.Refresh() function.

    Thanks,

Hello Reza, Thank you for your valuable sessions.
I plan to setup write back, however my data source is a Salesforce report and not an excel file stored on my hard disk!
I also have gone so far to connect a table in my dashboard with the powerapp and it reacts to any change of the table. So far so good.
The problem: I have added 3 empty column in the data model that I would like to use and write back. By creating a form in power Apps, I cannot find any place to connect my power Bi model and choose the fields that I would like to use for write back. It would work, if the data source were i.e. an XLS file. Any idea? Many thanks, Reza
