We are unable to find the site address. Please try selecting a site address from the dropdown.

I am attempting to build some very simple FLOWS in SharePoint. When I attempt to setup the trigger my site does not appear in the drop down even though I have the site open in another tab. Only 1 of the sites I have created appears in the list but not the one I need. When I attempt to manually enter the site url I get the following error;

We are unable to find the site address. Please try selecting a site address from the dropdown.

I have tested the manually entered url by copying it to the address bar of a browser. - I access the site every time

My site URL is https://uark.sharepoint.com/sites/hous-cross

Flow cannot see this site at all. In fact flow will not allow me to proceed any further.

Hi @lmartini,

Thanks for feedback.

What’s your current situation? Are you still having the issue?

Could you use the site addresses before?

Please make sure you are using the right site URL.

By the way, could you try to create a flow for a list or library in SharePoint Online? Please take a try with it to see if the site address will be populated automatically.

Please check the following doc for more details:

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/create-a-flow-for-a-list-or-library-in-sharepoint-online-or...

Please feel free post back if you are still having the issue.

Best regards,

Mabel

All of this activity is in SharePoint Online.

I was able to access the site addresses last week. All of my sites appeared in the drop down.

This situation occurs when I attempt to create new Flows. The first step is to insert the trigger. The trigger I was using was When a file is created or modified. I also tried to use the “properties only” version of this as well. The first parameter that must be provided is the site. When I attempt to use the drop down only one of my sites appears ( not the correct one). When I attempt enter the url of the correct site the insertion point jumps back and forth in the entry line. I have to watch very carefully as I enter the url to make sure that the insertion point is at the end of the entry. After I have completed the url entry, nothing else works in the Flow. When I insert the table name Flow errors out again and says it can’t find the table. I know the url entry is correct because I copy it into the address line of another tab of my browser and press enter. I am able to access the site.

Hi @lmartini,

Could you try to recreate the connection to see if it will work?

The issue could not be reproduced by me.

If you are still having the issue, please feel free post back.

Best regards,

Mabel

I am having the exact same issue. Today in SharePoint Online I created a new site from the Modern admin center. The URL to the site is https://companyname.sharepoint.com/sites/HelpDesk. I then created a custom list on that site which is what I am setting up my flow for. My site does not show up in the drop down, I have tried typing in the address manually and copy and pasting it. Same thing every time. "We are unable to find the site address. Please try selecting a site address from the dropdown".  Please help

Same here. I have a lot of sites, two of them have almost identical URLs. The first one appears in the drop down and I can make the flow no problem. The second though does not appear in the drop-down and even though the difference in the name and the URL is a single letter, after editing the site is not accepted. Very frustrating...

I also find it confusing that the name of the site seems to be required as well as the URL.

UPDATE: I have since found that if I open the site and click on a few pages therein, the site now becomes visible in the drop-down. I guess the system is trying to be clever and show us only the most recently used top 10-15 sites? We have hundreds of sites so it would be nice to have some other way of populating...a search perhaps?

Hi @lmartini

Could you try the below?

Under the SharePoint action step where you enter the site name click the Dynamic content and enter the site name manually. Save the flow. Generally it should resolve the site name correctly.

Thanks

Thanks

thanks @omoroi I knew this was a bug! and you found it 🙂 thanks!!

Thanks @omoroi its worked for me as well.

Make sure the data connection used have access to the site. Else please switch the data connection to other ID

I am receiving this message as well with a bit of a twist.

Backstory: There are two connections used for Power Automate flows - one based on my email - ann.xxx@xxx.com and one created specifically for Power Automate - power.automate@xxx.com). We've been using the Power Automate connection in our flows for over a year without issue.

Yesterday, I was trying to modify a flow (change the trigger) and started receiving the "We are unable to find the site address. Please try selecting a site address from the dropdown." There is nothing available in the dropdown and the same message appears when I try to enter a Custom Value. Now, the weird thing is that even though the message appears, it DOES link to the site because present the list/libraries from that site.

Ann_DAS_1-1648644918650.png

Whether or not it links, I can't get the message removed and I cannot save the flow.

I've gone through various support solutions and have tried to refresh the site, have gone to the site and went through pages, even tried using another SharePoint site without success. I've even copied the site info from another working flow and it still doesn't work.

Other proposed solutions were to a) change the connection or b) create a new connection. When I used the connection based on my email (the Power Automate is the default connection) and when I created a new connection I still get the same issue.

Any ideas?

It works! Thank you!

Our site was renamed, and Power Automate didn't like the old site name.  I had to delete and recreate the action with the new site name (via "Enter custom value") to get the Flow to save.  Not the best solution, but hopefully that sheds light on another solution method.

I've run into this issue several times, and it's hugely frustrating! What I've found is the solution lies in two places:

  1. Make sure the account the owns the connections has full control of the site.
  2. Make sure that same account is following the site you need to access.

I typically use a service account (m365service@...) to manage the connections, and be one of the Flow owners, so that means I have to remember to use that account to log in to SharePoint and follow the site, and make sure that account is in the Owners permission group with Full Control of that site.

I hope that helps someone else.

It's not even 5 years since the start of the thread, and the issue still persists. Good job Microsoft.

Anyway pasting the site address and saving the flow even with error works. The error disappears after the flow is saved.

Hi.
I was facing the same issue with a SP site not appearing in the action connection (Create File) in the “Site Adress” dropdown list in Power Automate and I just managed to add it. It appears, at least in my case, the user needs to be part of the SharePoint site owner's permission list.
The site was attempting to connect was first created in Teams thus owners of this Team site are part of the Owner's Team Group (as a group) but the owners are not added individually to the SharePoint site that is automatically created along when creating the Teams site. So, I tried adding my user to the owner's group directly in SP site.
1. I went to the SharePoint site/settings/site permissions/ advance permission settings.
2. Added my username to the owner's group and save it.
At first it seemed it did not work but had to wait for a few mins for it to sync (perhaps) and then had to save my flow and close and open it again. Then there it was the SP site in the dropdown list. It was beautiful lol.

I hope it works for some of you.

I confirm that after following the SharePoint site, it appears in the list 😀
