How to pass the ID of new SPO item to flow

Hello guys,

i customized an Sharepoint onlie form with Powerapps, created a flow that is triggered when new item is created and so far all ok.

It now turns out that the flows performance (when i want to change something) is very poor and I would like to split the flow into 2 flows... to trigger the right flow i would like to remove "when item is created" and use the direct trigger on button:

This could work fine but the flow must somehow find out which item it should handle, which item to change etc... (if more items get created). The best idea woiuld be to pass on the current item ID... the button would patch the values and last step would be sending the item ID... is that even a good approach? The problem I see is that the ID is not yet exisiting hence i would need to do some delay/timer and then trigger or something similar...not sure thats whre i need you help.

Alternatively i could have a label that display current time from year to seconds and pass that on, use it as an ID, but dont like it so much...

In answer to your question as to how to retrieve the ID of the last submitted record in SharePoint, if you were calling Patch to insert your record, the return value from Patch returns the inserted record and you can use this to retrieve the ID.

Here's an example of the syntax that you would use.

If you were using a form to insert your record, you can use the LastSubmit property of the form to return the record that you last added, and you can use this to retrieve the ID.

 - the error says that its expacting a table value (for the flow part)

- I also dont get how this could work, but i am probably wrong, can you pass on more info

If you want the ID of the record just Patched to send to the Flow, do this

      Defaults('test'),
      {Title: DataCardValue1.Text}
   ).ID
);

Glad you got is working, but the your end solution does not seem to match the problem you posted of getting an ID that does not exist yet.

@WarrenBelz , i am not completely sure how it does it but it do returns me the ID of the item that was just created
