Show 2 Status Type Selections out of 4 on Screen Visible and Button Push

What I am trying to accomplish is to get my app to display only 2 status types on load as well as create a tabbed selection view for each status type. I have been success on everything except being able to load 2 status types at once. So my dashboard onVisible to display 2 statuses (Not Started & In Progress) and my button for Display Active Deals to show 2 statuses (Not Started & In Progress). Can you provide advice on how I can accomplish what I am trying to do.

My details on what I have done:

On loading my app I have it currently showing all my data. I want it to show by default "Not Started" and "In Progress" defined items. I currently have this set up pulling my main dashboard gallery information:

Sort(Filter(If(!IsEmpty(Filter(Administrators,FullName = varUser)), Lead_Data, Filter(Lead_Data, AssignedTo.Value = varUser || LeadMember1.Value = varUser || LeadMember2.Value = varUser || LeadMember3.Value = varUser || LeadMember4.Value = varUser)),If(SelectedStatus = "All", true, Status.Value = SelectedStatus)),"Created",If(SortByDate,Ascending,Descending))

On "OnVisible" of my dashboard screen I have this piece of code:

// Have all data show on load of page
    Set(SelectedStatus, "All");

On "OnStart" of my app I have:

Set(SelectedStatus, "Not Started");
Set(SelectedStatus, "In Progress");
Set(SelectedStatus, "Dead Deal");
Set(SelectedStatus, "Completed Deal");
Set(SelectedStatus, "All")

I have these because I also have 5 buttons to be able to view just the Not Started or In Progress or Dead Deal or Completed Deal, or to have it reset to the intial screen (however I want this button to also only display the two "Not Started" and "In Progress" status selections. I am creating a tabbed view. These are submitted into my SharePoint list in a dropdown selection.

Here is a screen shot to be able to help visualize everything that I am describing:

Hi @KimberlyM ,

Could you try this, and check if your issue is fixed. If not, hopefully you can post the error information of your app and formulas.

Sort(
    If(
        varAdmin,
        Filter(
            Lead_Data,
            If(
                SelectedStatus = "Active Leads",OR(Status.Value = "In Progress", Status.Value = "Not Started"),Status.Value = SelectedStatus
            )
        ),
        Filter(
            Lead_Data,
            AssignedTo.Value = varUser || LeadMember1.Value = varUser || LeadMember2.Value = varUser || LeadMember3.Value = varUser || LeadMember4.Value = varUser,
            If(
                SelectedStatus = "Active Leads",OR(Status.Value = "In Progress", Status.Value = "Not Started"),Status.Value = SelectedStatus
            )
        )
    ),
Created, Descending)

Best regards,

Sik

Hi @KimberlyM ,

To better understand your issue:

1. Do you mean that you only want to show two status types but now it shows all types data?

2. Which is kind of your data source? what is the data type of Status column?

In your formulas, you always set the SelectedStatus to 'All' finally, so it always show all types data.

First you should modify the values of Variable SelectedStatus, it controls the filter condition. Modify as below:

Set(SelectedStatus, ["Not Started","In Progress"])

Second, modify "Status.Value = SelectedStatus" to "Status.Value in SelectedStatus" in the formula of the items property of gallery to only show these two types data. (The other parts have not been modified, assuming they are correct)

Sort(Filter(If(!IsEmpty(Filter(Administrators,FullName = varUser)), Lead_Data, Filter(Lead_Data, AssignedTo.Value = varUser || LeadMember1.Value = varUser || LeadMember2.Value = varUser || LeadMember3.Value = varUser || LeadMember4.Value = varUser)),If(SelectedStatus = "All", true, Status.Value in SelectedStatus)),"Created",If(SortByDate,Ascending,Descending))

You did't post any formulas with Tabs gallery right? Maybe you can share more details with that  if you want to get more help with it.

Take a try and hope this helps.

Best regards,

Sik

---1. Do you mean that you only want to show two status types but now it shows all types data?
That is correct. Right now it is showing all types of data and I only want it to load displaying Not Started and In Progress. As well when they click on the View Active Leads that it will show this same data as I also have tabs just to view Not Started, In Progress, Dead Deals, Completed Deals (these "tabs" are all working).

---2. Which is kind of your data source? what is the data type of Status column?
My data source is a SharePoint List called Lead_Data. The data is being pulled from a dropdown Choice list.

---3. On each of my tabs I have set:
OnSelect of Not Started: Set(SelectedStatus, "Not Started")
OnSelect of In Progress: Set(SelectedStatus, "In Progress")
OnSelect of Dead Deals: Set(SelectedStatus, "Dead Deal")
OnSelect of Completed Deal: Set(SelectedStatus, "Completed Deal")

I am not having any success with the information you sent over. I am getting errors such as:

"Incompatible type. We can't evaluate your formula because the context variable types are incompatible with the types of values in other places in your app."

@v-siky-msft when I use the code you shared with me it creates an error on the

Set(SelectedStatus, ["Not Started","In Progress"])

 My error states:
"Incompatible type. We can't evaluate your formula because the context variable types are incompatible with the types of values in other places in your app."

The status types are pulling from a choice dropdown column. I cannot follow this error back to what might be the issue. Do you have any suggestions?

HI @KimberlyM

You should modify all variable "SelectedStatus" to be the form of table.

Just use [ ] operator to form the variable as below:

Set(SelectedStatus, ["Not Started"]);
Set(SelectedStatus, ["In Progress"]);
Set(SelectedStatus, ["Dead Deal"]);
Set(SelectedStatus, ["Completed Deal"]);
Set(SelectedStatus, ["All"]);

After that, please keep try and check if it can solve your issue.

Best regards,

Sik

@v-siky-msft, unfortunately no, I have not figured this out yet. Nothing seems to be working the way I need it to. I am still working with it to figure out how to make it work. It is a real headache.

Hi @KimberlyM ,

If you still have any issue, please feel free to post back.

I will try to help you find out the workaround.

Best regard,

Sik

@v-siky-msft  I have not successfully done either of these tasks. I have to admit I have been stuck on this problem so long that I am lost.

It might be easier if I break it down more?... Hope this will help with where I am at now.
I have a total of 5 buttons:
Button 1 (works):
onSelect: Set(SelectedStatus, "Not Started")
Button 2 (works):
onSelect:
Set(SelectedStatus, "In Progress")
Button 3 (works):
onSelect:
Set(SelectedStatus, "Completed Deals")
Button 4 (works):
onSelect:
Set(SelectedStatus, "Dead Deals")
Button 5 (does NOT work):
onSelect:
Set(SelectedStatus, "Active Leads")
Previously button 5 loaded "all leads" with the code Set(SelectedStatus, "All") but now I need it to load only Not Started and In Progress statuses

I also need when the dashboard gallery loads that it only displays the Not Started and In Progress statuses.
Gallery Items:

Sort(
    If(
        varAdmin,
        Filter(
            Lead_Data,
            Or(
                SelectedStatus = "All",
                Status.Value = SelectedStatus
            )
        ),
        Filter(
            Lead_Data,
            AssignedTo.Value = varUser || LeadMember1.Value = varUser || LeadMember2.Value = varUser || LeadMember3.Value = varUser || LeadMember4.Value = varUser,
            Or(
                SelectedStatus = "All",
                Status.Value = SelectedStatus
            )
            /*Tried these two but I either can't get them to work or they cause a delegation problem
If( SelectedStatus = "All", true, varActive, Or(Status.Value = "In Progress", Status.Value = "Not Started"), Status.Value = SelectedStatus ) If( SelectedStatus = "All", true, [active leads tab is selected], Or(Status.Value = "In Progress", Status.Value = "Not Started"), Status.Value = SelectedStatus )*/ ) ), Created, Descending)
