Check if value from form exists in Excel table

Hello, I'm just getting started with Flow.

I've created a form, in which people will submit their email address (among other things).

I would like to check if the email address exists in an Excel table (and then do some more stuff).

Not sure how to do this? I've tried Excel Get Row action, but the flow fails because no Id found.

Do you want to check if an email address exists in an Excel table?

Please try to use the action Get rows instead of Get row, then add a condition to check if the submitted email address exists in the Excel table.

I have created a flow to check if the email address exists in the Excel table, if no, insert a row in the table.

After the trigger When a new response is submitted, Initialize variable, type set as String.

Add the action Get response details, then Get rows from the Excel table.

Add an action Select, select the email address from the table.

Then the action Set variable, value set as:

Body(‘select’)

Add the Condition, if the email variable contains EmailAddress, do nothing, if no, insert it into the excel table.

I am trying your example, but something is not working. I think I am getting mixed up in this step.

I don't know if I am mapping correctly, and I don't know what to set as the value of the variable in that next step. In your explanation, you wrote "Body('select')" but when I did that, it put the text string "Body('select')" as the contents of the variable.

Get rows doesn't look like it exists anymore. What are my other options to do the same thing?

I do not have the option to select "Get Rows", only "Get Row"

Try "list rows"

Try using configure run after failed.

1. Get response details

2. Initialize checking variable.

3. Use 'Get a Row' to get the row with the key value as checking variable.

4. Configure run after failed.

If the row with the value doesn't exist, the 'Get a Row' action will fail. Then you can go ahead to add the row using 'Add a row to a table'.

If the row with the value does exist, the 'Get a Row' action will be successful, you can either go ahead and update the row or do nothing.
