Connecting to DB connection (cloud and on-prem) as user

There is an existing PowerBI idea - - that suggests making the Enterprise Gateway use authenticate as user for on-prem sources so that row-level security is maintained. This would also be great for cloud DB sources like Azure SQL DB since it also supports row-level security. If a service or general account is used to connect to those data sources than the business application has to implement some security at that layer and doesn't allow the business app to build on already existing (and maintained) security that has been implemented.

@Audrie-MSFT any updates on the status of this or even a suggestion on how to implement this with a custom connector?
