Flow is also re-triggering emails for previous items listed

Hi,

 

I am trying to make a flow which triggers an email to Department Managers as well as Their respective team members when an issue item has been created on sharepoint.

I have 2 sharepoint list: Test HPBC Sunset v2 consisting of 4 columns: Title, Raised By, Private or Public, Description, Request Date, Department and Department:Manager. I have the created another list called Department Managers which consists of Department, Manager (email address) and Team Member (email addresses of team members).  

 

Ideally, whenever I create another item on HPVC Sunset v2, it would trigger an email to the Department Manager and Team Members of the Department that the user has inputted. For example, for the Test 2 item, the flow would trigger an email to the Finance Manager and Finance Team Members when the item is added. However, currently, the flow is not only triggering email to the Finance manager and respective Team members, but it is also re-triggering emails to department managers and team members of Test 1 item.

 

My current flow configuration is shown below:

Could you share more details on this issue?

 

What is the column type of Deparment:Manager?

 

Is Manager (email address) of type person or group column?

 

I will help reproduce this issue with more details.

Hi,

 

So both Manager and Department:Manager are email columns.

Do you mean that the email is sent to both department manager and team members twice?

 

It seems that column team members is multiple selection enabled. Is department manager also multiple selection enabled?

 

Please try using variables to append the team members into a single array, then use the variable in the To field.

Hi,

 

Currently , the problem that i have with my flow is that whenever I add a new item onto the Test HPBC Sunset v2, an email is generated to ALL of the managers and team members listed in Department Manager list, instead of sending emails just to managers and team members of that one item which has just been added.

 

For example, if i were to add another item designated to the IT team, the flow would also trigger an email to managers and team members of Finance.

 

How can I fix this?
