Hi there. I am trying to trigger a Dataflow from Power Automate. The Dataflow was configured directly in the Power Platform with my personal account. I have a Service Principal that I want to use for the connections in my solution. Specifically I am trying to do the following
1. Create a Power Query Dataflows connection with the credentials of the SP
2. Use that connection to trigger the Dataflow refresh from my flow.
When using the connection that is under my personal account I can select all the dataflows in the 'Dataflows' dropdown in the connector input window.
However when using the connection under the SP I get the following error when trying to select the dataflows.
Error Message:
Could not retrieve values. The dynamic invocation request failed with error: { "Message": "The backend request failed with error code '403'", "Reason": "Forbidden", "WorkspaceType": "Environment", "OperationId": "ListDataflowsForRefreshDataflow", "ClientRequestId": "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX", "ClientRequestUrl": "https://australia-001.azure-apim.net/apim/dataflows/shared-dataflows- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX /api/group/ XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX -australia/listdataflows/forrefreshdataflow?workspaceType=Environment" }.
The Service Principal has System Administrator Security Role in the Environment of the Dataflow. Also the SP has been given the floowing Azure API permissions:
Any clues would be much appreciated?

Hi Yueyun. The Dataflows are in a Power Platform not in a Power BI workspace. Are you aware of configurations required in Power BI when using a Dataflow in a Power Platform environment?

I test it in my side , i encounter the same error code....😅
And as searched , i have found no document the permission the service principal need...
I suggest you create a support ticket for professional assistance following the below procedure.

We're thrilled to announce that Ahmed Salih is our Super User of the Month for April 2024. Ahmed has been one of our most active Super Users this year--in fact, he kicked off the year in our Community with this great video reminder of why being a Super User has been so important to him! Ahmed is the Senior Power Platform Architect at Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. He's been a Super User for two seasons and is also a Microsoft MVP! He's celebrating his 3rd year being active in the Community--and he's received more than 500 kudos while authoring nearly 300 solutions. Ahmed's contributions to the Super User in Training program has been invaluable, with his most recent session with SUIT highlighting an incredible amount of best practices and tips that have helped him achieve his success.
