Trigger message when approval is sent

Hello Everyone,

Do we have a feature where notification/email is triggered to requestor once request is sent for Approval to Approver?

I tried adding notification/email just before the approval action starts but it is kind of incorrect. What happened is in this case, I got email that approval flow is intitated but approval flow failed because of some error.

If I add the notification/email trigger to after Approval action, flow waits for Approver's response to trigger the relevant notification or email action, which again defeats the purpose.

Thanks,
AK

You may want to consider the following:

1) Send the email to the requestor before the approval

2) Start Approval

3) Add a send email action to send an email to the requestor after the approval that will only be sent if the approval fails. The email can explain that there was a problem.

To configure the second email action to fire only if the approval fails, you'll use the "configure run after" settings.

Not exactly a full proof solution but good workaround. I will mark it as solution.
