Custom Validation in Power Virtual Agents using Regular Expressions

‎09-07-2021 07:24 AM

In this video, we are going to discuss a new feature found in Power Virtual Agents that allows you to create entities based upon a Regular Expression. This allows us to perform validation of information received from users before passing it to downstream systems.

Hi @KentWeare-MSFT,

Great video. It looks pretty easy to setup your own regular expression entity. Definitely going to test that.

Like you already mentioned in the video. The only response for an invalid value is 'Sorry, I didn't understand'?

Would be nice if we could customize that invalid message. In this example a 'Sorry, this isn't a valid KB number' would probably be a more suitable response 🙂

Happy to help out! 🙂
