AI builder and environment region

Hello,

I am trying to build a new AI model to use in a new solution. I noticed I didnt have the option to build AI model in the solution so have to just do it in the general environment area - is that correct?

Also, when I try to create a new AI model it says I cant in the environments region. The environment is one I recently made (its not the default). I tried to go to settings (cog top right - admin center) to edit the region but it then only shows me 2 of the 3 environments (there are actually 4 but i assume im not supposed to be able to edit the default?).

Why isnt my environment showing up in the admin center?

Is that the correct way to edit the region?

Is only the default environment connected to the dataverse which will also be a problem? Can I choose sharepoint instead of dataverse as the database?

Thanks,

Hi Adrian, I don't think that it is possible to change a given environment's region. If you need an environment in a different region than you current one, I would recommend reaching out to your admin / admin team to see what's feasible. Regions where AI Builder features are available are documented at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/ai-builder/availability-region.

your right in that the region cant be changed 😞

I just went to create a new environment and saw that my region (europe) is automatically set as the default and I wouldnt have changed that so a little confused whats going on.

I then remembered the other issue i had - this environment isnt showing up in the admin centre - even tho its my my drop down list of environments 😕

I decided to just create a new environment - all seems ok - shows up in admin centre so I went to create a AI model and it said i need to create a database - ok so I click create database and nothing happens. - the "no databases" message refreshes and that it

Hi @adrian-m ,

If you are admin, you can also activate Dataverse for your environment through PPAC (Settings > Admin center). It may unblock you.

In parallel, we can also investigate your original issue: please send us your session details (Settings > Session details from the PowerApps portal)  by email at aihelpen@microsoft.com so that we can investigate.

Thanks.

Hi,

wont additional dataverses cost more money? Also, what If I just want to use sharepoint instead of a dataverse?
