Create Planner Task and Include Attachments From Microsoft Forms

I have the need for colleagues outside my Teams team to be able to make requests to my teams Planner.
I found a flow on this forum that creates Planner tasks from Microsoft Forms. It is a great start. Now that Microsoft Forms got updated to be able to have attached files, I would really like to update the flow to be able to update the created task with files from the form too.

Files attached to the form are stored in a automatically generated folder in OneDrive /Apps/Microsoft Forms/FORM_NAME/Question

I'm a total flow novice. I tried setting up a files if yes/if no condition. I'm not sure what to do to target the files from the form (located in OneDrive) correctly, and add them to the task.

Any help appreciated 🙂

Forum wouldn't let me inline the image for what ever reason.
PrintScreen of my flow this far is here: https://i.ibb.co/CPc9Gt2/Flow.jpg

Hi @KristianLF ,

Do you mean that if a qualified file is available in OneDrive, then add this file to the Planner task?

If so, then your configuration in Condition should look like this:

55.PNG

In addition, the difficulty in configuring this flow is that it cannot obtain the file link, the file link required in task details, and the existing functions in the OneDrive connector cannot achieve the need to obtain the file link.

Please refer to the methods below to achieve your needs.

  • Use Create share link to create a link to access the specified file and save the file name and Web URL as an array.

@v-bacao-msft I added your solution to my flow. If the form response contains no files the flow fails. If the form response contains a file, it creates and updates the task with everything except of the file.

I guess I am having the workflow look for OneDrive files wrong?

I haven't change it from how I have it in the screenshot

Hi @KristianLF ,

Could you share the full screenshots of Flow's current configuration?

If configured according to my method, when the Find files in folder action fail or the Body is empty, the following actions will not continue to execute. This is as expected unless I understand your needs incorrectly.

What do you mean by "it creates and updates the task with everything except of the file"? Is it impossible to get the file or the task attachment does not contain the expected file? Have you checked whether each step performed as expected?

Please provide these details.

Hi @iko_chen / @KristianLF / @Anonymous ,

Maybe you could refer to this great article to get the details of the file and add them to task:

Hi there,

Is there a way for you to share this Flow as a Template?

Also, I'm trying to do something similar, but instead of using a "Personal/Private/Individual Form" on my OneDrive for Business. At this moment, the form was created as a "Share Form" on an individual "MS Planner Plan", which stores the attachments inside a "SharePoint Document Library" associate to that specific Plan (same name and privileges to the users). Do you have any idea on how to fetch the data there?

Thanks in advantage.
