Flow runs successfully but SharePoint list item is not updated

Hey everyone! Hoping someone can help as I've exhausted search efforts on the forum/Google for solutions and have done a ton of iterations to try and figure this out by trial and error, but nothing so far has helped.

I created a flow to update an existing SharePoint list item with new information received via a Microsoft Forms response (that took tons of iterations to work, used this process). The current point(s) I'm using to locate the item in the list is the neighborhood/mobile home park name and space number - both are a column in the list and a field in the form response (Neighborhood is field_1, space number is field_3). The information I'm gathering in the form response that I want to update in the item is a mix of choice and text answers. 

My goal/context if it helps: the existing list items are addresses in an area selected for appointments (in this example for smoke alarm installations). Interested households fill out the form so the team can gather additional information to schedule an appointment.

At a first glance there does not seem to be any strange of what you are trying to do, this seems well within the normal functionalities and processes. Hence my first thought is that you are connecting some things wrongly so to say.

What is the outcome that you do get ... do you get any error or a wrong data included?

I have listed a few approaches below which has helped me in the past solve issues with (similar to your case) should work.

• Between each step, put in a Compose action with the data that is relevant to be passed. As such you can better see what is the input for a certain next Action (this is not always clear from the output of the action). Are you sure that all the data is passed on to the next step? I would start with the selection of the 'Get Items' and the data passed into the 'Update item'.
• Breakdown each step separately ... use a blank flow and check and confirm each action:
  • Update Item ... does it work? Just with dummy data, any update at all.
  • Get items ... does it work? 
  • Get items with filter ... does it work?
  • etc.
• I know the above may sound kinda stupid, but it helped me many times to discover some, in retrospect, obvious error in my flows.

You are in the right direction, this can work ... just muddle on a bit.

Hi Koen - thank you so much for your detailed reply! When running my original flow, I don't get any errors, but looking back at past tests, a small portion of data actually did transfer from the form to the list - all the fields considered single or multiple lines of text. The other fields were all single choice questions (y/n, pick a language, etc.) and did not transfer to the list...which leads me to believe the issue might be with the data output? 

I'll breakdown each step as you suggested and see if that helps me find the error. Hope to report back soon (with success!).
