Pictures from MS Forms in Sharepoint and from Sharepoint populate Excel

Hello everyone,
I am currently working on a flow that pushes a survey from Forms with normal text answers into a Sharepoint list and fills an Excel table from this Sharepoint list and sends it by mail. This works so far in two different flows. Now, however, an attachment or image should also be sent. Does this have to be done with JSON or Base64?
Here the first flow:

Here ist the second Flow:

Hi @LucaNeedHelp ,

You're correct! You need to use parse JSON to get uploaded file id in OneDrive, use the id to get file content and use the file name and content as the attachments of Email. May I know about the upload image questions in the survey, how many images are allowed to upload in a single question?

and @v-jefferni how i get the Attatchment to the Sharepointlist? Which categroie is the attachment in the Sharepointlist? Because i dont get it. Sorry i am new to this power automation!

Hi @LucaNeedHelp ,

You need a Add attachment action which uses the file name and content as well to create attachment to the recent created list item.

In which flow? For the sharepoint? Or for sending the mail?

Hi @LucaNeedHelp ,

Actually, I think you just need one flow. You can move all actions in the second flow to the first flow, anything you need from the trigger of the second flow you can find them return from Create item action as well. The Add attachment action should be placed anywhere just under the Create item action.

But it do not work to get the attachmednt in to the sharepoint list.

Hi @LucaNeedHelp ,

It should work, unless something is wrong in the flow. Is there any error? How did you setup the Add attachment action?

Hi @v-jefferni ,

No, the problem is that I can't get the attachment into Sharepoint as an extra column. If I use it as a column, it tells me that I can only use 255 characters and the links are too big. So the question for me is do I have to display the attachment in the sharepoint list at all or how do I get it in here?Screenshot 2024-04-25 101748.png

Hi @LucaNeedHelp ,

I was saying the action:

vjefferni_1-1714034064830.png

it adds a file to the item of Create item action in default Attachments column.

hi @v-jefferni ,

I think we're talking at cross purposes, or I don't understand. Sorry.
The flow is there to load the answers into the sharepoint once and then fill all answers into an Excel template. The attachment from the Forms survey should also be added to this template. This is my current problem.

Hi @LucaNeedHelp ,

I understood. You can create share link for the file saved in OneDrive and populate the URL in a Hyperlink column in the list, also the URL can be used to populate Excel table.

but it comes always another file that came from the forms

Hi @LucaNeedHelp ,

I don't know why, unless you used the wrong file id in these OneDrive actions.

i give up for today! 🙂 I don´t know.

Hi @LucaNeedHelp ,

Please post some screenshots of the flow in edit mode so that I can try and figure out if there is a mistake.

This is my flow to get the file id from outputs of Parse JSON action

Hi @v-jefferni , did you find a solution? 🙂

Hi @LucaNeedHelp ,

This is the overview of the flow I have created based on your workflow logic:

vjefferni_1-1714118115093.pngvjefferni_2-1714118138568.png

vjefferni_5-1714118550647.png

In the Create item action, you can see I'm able to connect to the result of Parse JSON using the expression:

first(body('Parse_JSON'))['link']

vjefferni_4-1714118379190.png

In initialize variable 2, the input values are from the outputs of Create item. The returned values are exact the same as the trigger "When an item is created" if they are the same list.
