Scheduling sharing permissions

Hello,

We use two Sharepoint files for creating our weekly newsletter. Is there a way to build a flow to temporarily lock editing of said documents after the deadline for ~24 hours or so? Been having an issue where people submit info after the deadline then get upset when it isn't included.

For your case scenario, where are you getting the deadline date information from? Is it a particular day every week, or does it come from a column in the library?

Assuming it's particular weekday every week (as it's a weekly newsletter), you can run a scheduled flow to run on the day of deadline and it's next day. Inside the flow, you can have a switch case or condition to check if the flow is running on the day of deadline or next day, based on which you can use file Check Out/Check In actions to block the file from editing by others.

1. Schedule the flow to run on deadline and next day of deadline at a specified time
   1. Trigger on deadline and next day
2. Use the dayOfWeek() to get the day, based on which use a condition to check out or check in the file
   Check dayOfWeek to check in or check out the file
3. SharePoint actions to Check in or Check out a file
   3. Checkout / Checkin actions by SharePoint Connector

If today = deadline date, then checkout the file - this will lock the document and won't allow others to edit

If today = next day of deadline, then checkin the file - so that others can continue working on it.
