Unable to open any attachment form MS Form submission into Sharepoint List. but it works with older submissions

Hi,

I have created a Flow using Power Automate that connects my Microsoft Group Forms to a SharePoint List. The Flow uploads the answers and attachments from my Form to my SharePoint List, however I am not able to open the attachments that are uploaded to the SharePoint list. When I try to open the attachment on SharePoint It simply states that Excel, Word, PDF, PPT, JPEG etc. is not able to open or a message saying "something went wrong.. However if I manually locate the file inside the SharePoint Document Library I am able to open the file.

Oddly, when I try to open attachments from older form submissions, they open without a problem, directly from the list. I changed the ownership of the form from my, to a group form. Could this be the problem?

Your Flow looks correct, just did a quick test... Can you compare my flow with yours.

Hi @Ben_Miller ，

My guess is that you changed the form permissions from 'my' to 'group form', because you have to enter the Id of the group form yourself.

Please enter the form ID and re-run the flow.

Hi, yes thats correct I think... the form is not recognised from the drop down list hence why I have to copy the URL. I've just copied the URL again in both, submitted a new response to the form. Unfortunately I still cannot open the attachment from the list.

@Ben - It seems that you have two apply to each loops... to add attachments. Can you please explain\check there is a loop inside a loop?

I am having the same issue. In the attached screenshot, you can see the first attachment link is correct (submitted before power automate flow was implemented) and then the second attachment link that was created after the flow was implemented.  How do I fix the PO flow so that all of that extra text doesn't show up and it captures just the link, like it does without the flow?

@CFernandes Thanks for the feedback. The get file content and add attachment is inside an apply to each action. the JSON gets the responses from

IDo you think I will have to revert to me being the sole owner of the form so that the permissions will allow for the attachments to be opened? What is strange, is that older submissions with attachments work perfectly.

@Ben From what I understand that the end goal is to save the Form attachments to SharePoint List item? If yes, can you give my solution a try?

@CFernandes thats not the issue. My flow can do that already but the I cannot open the attachment when in the list entry. But it works on submissions made before I transferred the form from me, to a group.

@CFernandes I think Ive found the route cause... Because I transferred the MS form from my form ownership to a group form, all attachments to the form submission are stored in the Group sharepoint document library (under apps>forms). Do I therefore need to change the permissions in the group to be able to open attachments and if so, I cant seem to find how to do that as the attachments are uploaded to Sharepoint list. I just can't open them.

Hey @Ben_Miller When you move the form to a Group. The attachments are stored in the default library for the group site.... You can find more details here - https://sharepointmaven.com/personal-forms-vs-group-forms/ 

So you might have to change your Power Automate to pickup documents from Group site SharePoint Library > folder.

@CFernandes - thank you, I'm hoping that will solve the problem. Just trying to see how I can point the Get file content to point towards the correct library. thank you for all your help.
