How to Open & Filter a Browse Gallery with a value from another Screen ?

For this question, I have the following two screens (part of an app):

(note: overall, the app works fine. Just adding some additional functionality)

BrowseScreen1 with BrowseGallery1. Data Source is a (on prem) SQL Server table ('NEM].[ztblNEM2Enh]')

DsViewScreen with a Data Table (DataTable1). Same Data Source as above. (Ds stands for Data Sheet fyi)

DataTable1 has a field called EnhID (display name 'ID'). Numeric (in fact a SQL Identity/Primary Key field)

BrowseGallery1 has the same field.

With the DsViewScreen open, when I click (select) an ID, I want to open the BrowseScreen1 ... Filtered on this ID (again, EnhID).

I've tried all sorts of different syntax. What I currently have is:

Navigate(BrowseGallery1, ScreenTransition.None); Filter('[NEM].[ztblNEM2Enh]', EnhID = DataTable1.Selected.EnhID)

This does open BrowseGallery1 ... but it's not Filtered. All the records show.

What am I missing?

So is the call to Filter in the button or in the BrowseGallery's Item-property? It needs to be in the Items-property, so move the call to Filter there and you will get only one record.

Sorry ...  should have been more clear.

This line of code:

Navigate(BrowseGallery1, ScreenTransition.None); Filter('[NEM].[ztblNEM2Enh]', EnhID = DataTable1.Selected.EnhID)

is on the OnSelect property of the 'ID' (EnhID) column of DataTable1 on the DsViewScreen.

Refer to screen shots below.

So ... when for example click (eg Select) ID 10, the BrowseScreen should open to the record with ID 10.  Both screens have the same DataSource.

For starters, don't use a browse gallery in the second screen if you want to show a single record. A view form is much more suited for that, or do your own display form with text labels. A browse gallery is used to browsing multiple records, and is basically the same thing as a data table, just different display capabilities.

Secondly, if you want to filter something, you have to do it in that control's Items property, NOT in another control's OnSelect.

Sorry not following.  The idea is to 'Select' an ID number (say 10) in the ID column of the Data Table, then open the BrowseGaller filtered on that ID.

Meanwhile ... the Browse Gallery will also be used in the normal fashion to browse records. It displays a relevant subset of fields in the underling Data Source. When the Edit button is clicked, an Edit Form opens with all the fields (~12), which of course can be edited.

The Data Table view realistically can only display (horizontally) 2-3 columns w/o scrolling right.

In a very loose sort of way, I'm trying to use the Data Table like a Slicer in Power BI

Not quite following this either, sorry.

In the first screen shot, the Data Table's Items property is set to the Data Source '[NEM].[ztblNEM2Enh]'.

Nothing else in the Data Table has an Items Property.

All the fields in the Data Table have an 'OnSelect' property.

Let's see if I can make this clearer...

You want to filter the BrowseGallery on ONE id, right, the one you select in the data table? If the IDs as unique and it's the same datasource you use in the brose gallery, it means the gallery will display only one record, not all records but positioned on that single record. That also means that a Browse Gallery is not the best control to use. 

If you want to filter the browse gallery, you have to do that in the Browse gallery's Items-property, NOT in an Onselect of another control.
