Calling on a specific item from a Collection

I want to populate a table with specific data from an app - is there a way I can tell a patch to take a specific entry on a collection. For example:

I want to use the "2" from "Rest Room/Canteen" in the following expression:

    Patch(
        'Form - Site Inspection Reports',

'Access / Egress': LookUp(col_combined, RatingTitle="Access / Egress").RatingScore,

Is this the only column causing problems?

Did you test the whole thing patching just one column to validate functionality?

If it's only the 'Access ...'-column: is there any difference in this column compared to the other columns in your 'Form - Site Inspection Reports' table?

Forget about ThisRecord...  didn't notice you're iterating over a different collection 👀

I changed it back shortly after sending that last essay haha.
I also commented out 'Access / Egress' just to check and then the issue was with 'Access Equipment'. Exact same error message too🙃 I had a feeling this would be the case; but it's nothing Notepad++ and Replace All can't fix!

I'm confused on what the issues could be though; is there a modifier I can append to the end so it would be like 

LookUp(col_combined, RatingTitle="Access / Egress").RatingScore.Choice,

or am I too hopeful? 😂 I'm sitll thinking it's something that is annoyingly obvious and I am just completely glazing over it

Thinking about it - I don't think there is a way to do what I want to do without completely changing the columns again. i.e - delete them all, and redo them as Text rather than Choice columns.
There's no way I can think of possibly converting them from Text to Choices again - and PowerApps doesn't seem to want to accept them even though the Text is exactly as it appears in the Choice options

Let's simplify: 

You can (only) patch a value back to a choice column when it rootes back to this choices column, e.g. you populate a dropdown from the choices column and can then patch back Dropdown.Selected.Value to the column.

You can not simply hardcode any option, say "Yes", into a text control and patch that back: TextControl.Text

Error: does not match expected type OptionSetValue

But what, if I looked up the hardcoded text in the OptionSet to retrive its value?

This would mean, that this could work:

'Access / Egress':  LookUp(Choices('Access / Egress'),LookUp(col_combined, RatingTitle="Access / Egress").RatingScore in Value).Value

Not sure how confident I am about this 😉

Slowly but surely, deleting the columns and redoing them as "Text" is feeling like the painless option 😅

I would go further down the rabbit hole 🤣, but I clearly understand your wish to redo and simplify  it. 

Are your choice columns global choices? 

Do you get anything , if you put

First(Choices('Access / Egress').Value).Value

into a text control?

So many questions left about deep diving global choices here 😉

This is only for testing purposes. Put it in a text control -> text property:  

First(Choices([@'Form - Site Inspection Reports'].'Access / Egress')).Value

 Should throw "N/A"

AH HA!
We're actually getting somewhere now. It fixed it with 'Access / Egress' (my evidence being the issue was now 'Access Equipment') so I went to NP++ and found and replaced everything. Now the issue has just been pushed a bit further up the list to something with a different title... even though it has the exact same settings as our first one 🙃

I'm not quite sure why there is a problem with it - seeing as I made no changes, there's no differences between this and other columns either.

Error "Name isn't valid. '{0}' ... means, that the column name 'COSHH - SDS Assessments in place'  is not correct

According to your code snippets the column name is 

'COSHH - SDS assessments'

and 'COSHH - SDS Assessments in place'  is the RatingTitle in your collection 

Caution: If your screenshots shows the actual code in your patch function, this would (always) patch the first value of your optionset back (= "N/A").  That's why I suggested to test it in a text control
