Patch & Navigate based on IF() Statement results

Hi all,

Hoping someone can teach me a thing or two 🙂

I am trying to create a return to work questionnaire that will navigate to one of two screens based on their answers.

I have absolute dummy text in here for the time being, so pay no attention to the questions!

I have a SP list named 'Desk Reservations' that hold data related to booking of desks. In this list I have a field named 'Confirmed' which is set Yes or No based on their answers, almost like a check-in confirmation. (This is for a track & trace type system, the data type is a choice field. )

To give an idea of the flow of the app, the user books a desk for a certain day then the idea is that they are able to 'Check-In' only after they answer the return to work questionnaire and click Continue button (2nd image).

Basically what I am trying to acheive is this:

1. If the user selects all 'Yes' answers > Navigate to Success screen & Patch() the above list with confirmed = yes.

2. If the user selects any 'No' answers > Navigate to fail screen & Patch() the above list with confirmed = no.

Maybe I don't need the second patch? The default value of the 'Confirmed' field in my SP list is set to 'No' anyway?

Currently, in the OnSelect property of the Continue button my IF() statement is not navigating correctly or patching the list with the correct Yes/No stamp.

My code is:

Has anyone any tips on how to filter through the IF statement and navigate to the required screens?

I have not tried any of this so the syntax for some things here will be questionable, but it should get you close.

There are a few things to think about I guess. First you need to check to see if there was any existing data from a previous run of the app. Then you need to check the info to see how old it is. the Now() function returns the current date and time. Anytime you deal with time in PowerApps (or 365 in general) you have to deal with UTC time vs local time, but you should be OK as long as you always use Now().

Here is the info on Now() and the date math functions

So you should be able to check the stored data and how old it is at one time - something like:

Load(MyStuff, "Times")

If( !IsBlank(Times.Value) And DateDiff( Now(), Times.Value) <3, Set(var_Confirmed, true), Set(var_Confirmed, false)

That checks that you had stored a value from a previous session and it is less than 3 days old.

Do I need to patch the SP list 'CurrentUserStatus' on the continue button on the questionnaire screen?

Silly mistake, no errors but navigation still broken. If I select 'Yes' to the questions it patches the SP list but doesnt navigate to success screen.

When I select 'No' to a question and hit continue it navigates to the success screen! (Ha).

OnSelect Code:

Title - line of text type - Data value: currentUser.fullname
