Resetting input after patch and transition to end-screen

I am very new at PowerApps, so i could use some help

I haven't used forms, as i found them somewhat tedious, so i currently have a couple of different input fields (text, radio button, people picker, date picker).

Scenario:

User types in information in the mentioned fields, and presses a "Submit" button which patches the input to where i need the data. After patching, it navigates to a completion screen, that then uses a 5 second timer to navigate back to the first screen. The data on the first screen is still there when it navigates back, so how do i make it clear those fields?

I tried using Reset(InputX), (and tested with an on-screen button that it works by itself) after the patch, but that doesn't work, so i'm at a loss.

Currently the Submit button OnSelect is set up like this:

I always use something like Reset(TextInput1); at the end of a code block. I also see where you could use the below.

Try selecting all the controls in the container and then set their Reset property to locReset. Then insert a little code after your Patch function:

UpdateContext({locReset:true});
UpdateContext({locReset:false});

This will reset all controls that have this variable set in the Reset property.

Thanks for your response

I've seen the locReset proposed as a solution on multiple posts, but it doesn't come up as an option in the Reset property, and i can't find any information on it, other than what is posted in the forums.

I might just be doing it wrong, of course

Any other ideas? 🙂

     So what you want to do is type locReset in the Reset Property. locReset is just a variable you are giving it. You could name it anything. Then the code after your Patch is toggling that variable to do the reset.

Oh, that makes more sense - however, it doesn't quite fix my issue.

It did reset all of the fields, but it doesn't trigger the navigation to the next page.

After your addition, code looks like:

I tried removing the Patch function, and after doing so, the app moves to the next screen with no problems, and the inputs are reset when returning to the first screen.

It would seem that the Patch function might be the one causing issues, but i don't see how to fix it.
Any suggestions?

Update: I created a new version of the same app, with the same exact setup, and now it seems to work 🙂

   Glad you got it working! I have had success with reloading an app when it should be working but it’s not or after updating list columns, etc. Not necessarily rebuilding, but probably similar. Looks like the navigate code should use a comma instead of semicolon and one less parenthesis. But I would have thought it would give an error if it was a problem.
