SP List Not Updating When Power App Form is Submitted

Good morning,
I have a power app form that is pulling in data from my "Roles" list into my "Access Request" form.
There are only three fields being populated manually.
1. LU_Role Name
2. Requestor
3. Justification

All other fields are populated based on the key field LU_Role Name

I am using this expression in the OnChange property of the LU_Role Name control to update the fields on the right side of the form.

golfnutt82_0-1640699524631.png

The issue is that only the Requestor and Justification field is being added to the SP List "Access Requests"
I need all fields on this form to be included.
The logic for the "Submit" button is as follows -

What am I doing wrong?

The text input control would not have an Update property.  Update Properties are only on DataCards.

There is no such thing as a New form and an Edit form.  There is only an EditForm control.  The only other type of form that there is would be a DisplayForm...and they have no capabilities (and it's not what you have).

If you do not see the update property, then PowerApps has determined that your underlying field is read only and cannot be written.

Tell me more about the Associated Site column in your data list.  If you remove that field from your form and then add it back in, what are the control type choices that it provides?

There are actually two datasources being used in the form
1. Acess Request - The datasource that is providing the fields to update the list
2. Roles - The datasource that is being referenced and displaying the data in the text fields that are display only.

The OnChange property of the "Role Word Search Results" is:

golfnutt82_2-1640801935171.png

Each of the six controls reference from above veriable to extract the information from the "ROLES" list.
This is used in the "Default" value as shown below.

The Associated Site field is one of six fields using the reference in the card default property and displayed on the form

I do see the Update property in the LU_Role Name datacard.

@golfnutt82

The second data source is not relevant to the form.  Only the primary Access Request datasource.  The second is used for the items properties of the controls, so that only plays a part of that.

The OnChange is not going to be relevant (or needed) to the issue.

What I am curious about though is that you have (in your picture) those controls darked out...as in not enabled for edit.  This is telling me that the underlying column is not writable.  So I need to still know, how is Associated Site defined in your SharePoint list?  What kind of column is it and how is it defined?

I created another form called TestForm and used the fields provided at the time of form creation.
No custom forms.

Current form I am having trouble with datacards.

Associated site is a field in the Roles list that shows up on the right once a value is selected from the search box.
It is strickly reference for the user the others when a Role Name is chosen from the dropdown (Top Left).

@golfnutt82

Okay, but I'm confused now.  Are you stating that the Associated Site is or is not in your Access Requests list?

I understand that it is in the Roles list, but you initially stated that these were not getting written when you submit the form...aren't you expecting those values to be written to your Access Requests list?  And if so, what are the fields in that List that you are trying to write, and what kind of fields are they in the Access Requests list?

Correct, it is not.
I only have about four fields that I use for the Access Request.
LU_Role Name
Requestor
Justification

Where things turned upside down (Because this was working before I tried to filter the dropdown) was when I created the search capablity and updating the display only fields.
As I said, I created a test form with no special functionality and it works but the new form functionality doesnt.
Im beside myself because on the surface it acts as expected except it wont update the list.
The key field on the form that is not being passed to the list is the LU_Role Name field, which is updated based on what is entered in Dropdown1_1

@golfnutt82

Okay, but it seems like there are multiple issues at hand.

Going back to the original Post, you had stated:

"The issue is that only the Requestor and Justification field is being added to the SP List "Access Requests"
I need all fields on this form to be included.
"

So what other fields are not being submitted?  If you're stating that the Associated Site (for example) is NOT in the Access Requests list...then it definitely will not be submitted.

So, backing up a little and looking at design.  From your picture, you have, on the left, a textinput and a dropdown (by the way, you could have just used a combobox to do the search).  The result of that Combobox is what populates the right side of your Form - the Associated Site, Role Owner Emil, Role Owner and User Group.

As I understand it, those are Read-Only because there are no columns in your Access Requests list that will get those values.

So...what issue is there?  What are you expecting to happen?

You are mentioning that it is the LU_Role Name that is not getting updated in the list...if THAT is the one, then what is the Update property of the datacard that contains that dropdown?

I tried to be slick because there could be hundreds of roles in the LU_Role Name control.
So I created this.

golfnutt82_0-1640811172172.png

In the top I can start adding letters, which then filters Dropdown1-1
Because these fields are outside the form, I still needed to pass the value to the main form LU_Role Name field.

In the default of the LU_Role Name datacard I referenced dropdown1_1, which updated the main LURole Name datacard "DataCardValue4".

The only fields I am actually updating in the Request Access list are

1. LU_Role Name
2. Requestor
3. Justfication

If there is a better way to do what I am currently fighting with then I am all ears.
I really appreciate your willingness to assist me.
