new look for Power Apps

We recently launched a preview of the new look for model driven app Power Apps. Details here As you try out the preview, please tell us what you think.  In the coming weeks we'll be talking more about how modern controls, using the Microsoft Fluent design system, will be coming to canvas apps, theming is also on the horizon (about time!).  We're keen to hear people's thoughts and feedback on all those topics here.

Many thanks

Ben

We see an issue when filtering values on date / time columns which are timezone-independent. When we select a date using the date picker, the date displayed in the "Filter By" field is the day before. When the filter is applied, the column is filtered correctly. When the filter is opened for the column again, the date value equals to the date selected.

Please fix the glitch that the day before the selected date is displayed after selecting the date initially.

Hi,

I'm building and testing a Model Driven App, I have created two Custom Security Roles based on the default App Opener Role.

When I run the app using either of these I'm unable to successfully use the New Look Toggle, it just spins on the 'Getting things ready' message.

If I change the role of the user to something else it works.

What additional privileges are required to enable the New Look?

Thanks

Mark

Hi @benapple

We found that when you hover over a table icon in the left menu while using the new look the tooltip displays the image's name rather than the table's name. This seems to happen in both the collapsed and expanded views of the left menu. Screenshots below.

Region: Australia

Dataverse version: 9.2.23103.00220

Alignment of horizontal radio controls has become messed up:

philjn77_0-1699520997409.png

Doesn't matter what height it is the circles stick to the top.

Hi @jasongre - I can confirm the most recent update brings back per control font size. Setting it to at least 16 prevents iOS from automatically zooming in. Thanks for your help.

Follow-up question: can we set the ‘base’ font size? I currently change all my controls to 16, it would be much easier to set my base font size once.

Hi @philjn77, thanks for the report.  This is a known issue with the radio group control and we've already fixed it. It should be rolling out in a few weeks.

Sorry for any inconvenience, and please keep the feedback coming.

Critical impact issue from New Look on opportunity table.  The sales team templates do not function properly when the new look is turned on.  These are subgrids on the opportunity form that are setup to show the user records of associated

In the new make portal form builder the subgrid options that work fine in the old look but fail in the new look are:

Here are the OLD then the NEW LOOK screenshots.  In the OLD, only those users specifically added to the read-write team template for the opportunity (or the read only template) are displayed.

OLD LOOK - just 2 users should show up

WSuycott_1-1699551438342.png

NEW LOOK - shows ever user in the system - over 5000 in our case.  BUT this isn't just about display of the subgrid, this also impacts queries/fetch/views that look for any opportunity where a given user is part of the read-write or read only sales team of an opportunity - literally the users shows up on every opportunity in our system.

This is the exact same opportunity with NEW LOOK enabled

WSuycott_2-1699551619633.png

Is this already a known issue - this has to be an impact to other companies using the opportunity sales team templates.

@Anonymous Thanks for bringing this up! A fix has already been made for this and will be available in a future release.

If it is not already on the roadmap, it would be nice to allow the spinner and loading bar to be arbitrarily sized. I would like to precisely size the dimensions of the spinning icon to match my other icon dimensions, and I am finding the thickness of the progress bar too thin, even on its thickest setting. I ended up making my own component for a progress bar to be able to customize, but it would be lovely to have one built in already set up.

Thanks for the feedback, @_severynm !!  We are discussing more sizing options for the modern controls.
