Ternary relationship in CDS

Hi,

I am currently implementing an application for timesheet based on the following "diagram":

I'm having issues implementing the main screen to feed the central table "Temps".

I am not able to feed the lookup combobox with the right data (task assigned in the entity "Mission").

Could you please help me or give me a hint in order to achieve what I want ?

Kind regards,

Mohammad

Re: Ternary relationship in CDS

Hi @mmp974

There is no such thing as a ternary relationship in PowerApps.  There can only be One-to-one, One-to-Many or Many-to-Many.  The latter is really two One-to-Many relationships.  It may help to review my series in the News and Annoucements part of the forum.  It starts at https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/News-Announcements-Formerly/Database-Design-Fundamentals-and-Pow... and the most pertinent one is https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/News-Announcements-Formerly/Relational-Database-Principles-and-P... .  I hope that this helps with your design issues.

Re: Ternary relationship in CDS

@Drrickryp ,

Thank for you reply and the link was useful.

I think the ternary relationship is just modelling (the main table "temps" has Many-to-One relationship with other entity), the problem that I have is to populate the entity "temps".

I don't know how to proceed to populate and filter dropdown combo box, everything I tried didn't work in order to fill the form correctly.

Re: Ternary relationship in CDS

I'll add some details to clarify.

The following field circled in red are the lookup fields I need to pre fill with informations I gave in other screens before.

(ie. the actions assigned to the mission, and the used assigned to the project)
