Can't get recurrence trigger to work

Hi,

I'm trying to set a recurrence trigger but it doesn't seem to do anything...

I want to do the recurrence monthly, but at the moment I'm just setting it to run every minute to test & it does nothing at all, it's meant to send me an email but doesn't. If I run the Flow manually, it sends the email fine.

I have set the time zone to London (my local timezone)
The Start time to: 2020-07-21T17:50:00Z

please help!

Here's one example of a Power Automate that is running every week. I'm in the same timezone as you so it should work the same:

If it still doesn't work, could you please share the run log to see if there's some error there or the schedule to check what may be wrong?

Hi,

Your picture doesn't show a time zone, should I remove that from my flow? Where would it know I'm located if it's not specified?

My start time also doesn't have the final three '000' as shown in your picture, is this needed as well?

Finally, at the moment I've set it to run every minute, but it doesn't even say the Flow has attempted to run in the log, the only logs are successful ones from where I've ran them manually myself.

I went to check the documentation to be sure of the date question. 

The required format is YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SSZ, so I think it matches yours, but there's no harm in trying with the extra 000.

I configured the date as the first date I wanted it to trigger... Probably every minute is hitting some sort of throttling from Power Automate. Don't forget that, depending on your license, you may only run a specific number of Power Automates per day.

Try setting up for a few hours from now to trigger every 2 hours. Tomorrow you'll see if it's triggering or not, but be careful with the limits.

do you know what the daily limit would be? I will change it to every couple of hours and see what it does

How would it know my time zone without specifying the setting do you know?

This still isn't working today, any ideas? Not really sure how it works to be honest... the recurrence looks right to me, the flow works if I do it manually but the flow just ISN'T running, there is no 'run' in the log.

Indeed it's best to start with a little more space between the triggers and see what happens.

The default timezone it's your own, so you're golden, but it's probably for the best to define it. I changed mine also to set the timezone based on our talk.

this just doesn't work at all - my flow hasn't even attempted to run the occurrence, am I missing something obvious?

Indeed it looks good.

Have you done the change before or after 9 am? If after it will only trigger in 4 weeks since it's then when the next schedule is defined.

I have set it back to every '1 day' at 9am, to start tomorrow. I will see what happens... this means the first one should send tomorrow at 9am correct?

Yes, I can reproduce this issue, it occurs if the Start time is set to the past, even on 1 Minute Recurrence. Try to set Start time even a few minutes into the future and in that case, I get it to run each minute.

Solution: Make sure start time is in the future

It might not be working if the Start Time is set to the past for some reason, maybe it is because it only works if Start Time is set to be at least few minutes into the future.

I tested by using UTC time zone, and converting my time to UTC time zone before putting it in. When I used a Start Date/Time in the past, even on 1 minute Recurrence, on two Flows, both Flows would refuse to recur or do anything, and I made sure they were turned on. The moment I used Start Time to be even just a couple minutes into the future on a third Flow, it was the third Flow that worked immediately and started at that time and then recurred each minute after that.

Try it and see if same happens for you. I presume you can change the Time Zone, but if unsure, just convert your time to UTC time, select UTC time zone, and use that. Here below you can see I saved this Flow at 09:48 AM UTC time on 8/22/2021 and it worked properly, see below:

I saved this Flow on August 22, 2021, at 09:48 AM UTC - only 2 minutes before the start time I set of 09:50 above.

As you can see from below, it worked.

When accepting the Recurrence defaults, or using any other date / time from the past, I also saw that it did not work for me either - not even a 1 minute recurrence intervals.

For me it only worked if the Start time is set to even a few minutes into the future.

Check if the same works for you.

I have resolved it by setting the "At these hours" to a few minutes after the "Start Time".
