Copy a file from SharePoint to AWS S3 bucket

Hello,

We have a requirement to copy a file from SharePoint document library to an AWS S3 bucket. We want to schedule this to run daily (it’s the same file and we just need to replace the file in S3 bucket with the file in SharePoint).

Has anyone achieved this before? I found some posts that we have to use the SFTP – SSH action for this. Is that correct?

These are the only details I have on AWS side :

Resource ARN

Bucket Name

Resource Region

Destination Folder

Access Key

Secret Key

Permission denied (publickey)

Any rule to create passphrase?

dont do it with a passphrase.. 

did you configure your user and put the public key in AWS Transfer family??

For the API way, do we need to download or store the files at some temporary location in between the SharePoint response and AWS S3 PutObject?

Hello, from what i know you do need the SSH Key.

If you're already using Microsoft Power Automate , you can leverage it to automate file transfer between SharePoint and S3. There are two options:

• API Call: Power Automate allows making API calls. You can develop a flow that uses the SharePoint REST API to download the file and then utilize the AWS SDK to upload it to S3.
• AWS Transfer Family: Setting up AWS Transfer Family creates a managed SFTP server. Power Automate can then be used to transfer files via SFTP to the S3 bucket behind the scenes.

Also, there are cloud migration tools like Gs Richcopy360 and Cloudfuze that offer data transfer directly between various platforms, including SharePoint and S3 and integrate easily with these clouds. These tools often have user-friendly interfaces and can be configured for scheduled transfers.
