Flows being delayed for hours

Hello all, I've come across an issue in the last week that I cannot figure out. I've got a Forms page that feeds to SharePoint and I have PA take that info and have it email out the responses to forms. I have no had any issue until recently, the flows are sometimes being processed several hours later, to the exact minute.

For instance this example shows it was submitted last night at 1:57pm, but the flow didn't run until 10:57pm. When I look at the duration, it only took 6 seconds to run. From what I can tell the system just seems to be holding onto it for a few hours. The exception form gets about 50-100 responses a day, and the delay is happening to less than 10 of them. I only started to notice it the other day when they started coming in outside of business hours.

I have not been able to recreate the issue, and when I hit the resubmit button to run the flow again on one that was delayed - it has always gone through immediately. The issue has been happening to different people, at different times, answering differently on the forms page - I have not been able to find out what is causing it or find similarities to the times it has happened.

Any sort of guidance or anything to help on this would be appreciated. I need to get this fixed.

Hello Nived,

PowerA will take the response to the forms and fill in the email with the corresponding template we have based on the answers to the Forms submission. We've got a total of 16 cases of different templates, the issue has applied to several of them. Here is what one of the flows look like, they are all very similar.

I wanted to come here to announce the same issue on my end. Noticed it yesterday - My flow goes to teams and email via responses. There are close to 500+ responses a day and it's also linking to sharepoint. It's totally random for users, sometimes posts 3 hours later, sometimes as late as 12 hours later. This is happening in multiple flows so I am convinced it is a microsoft flows issue that isn't being reported.

Hi @Kirby1  @asmit782

I am not sure whether this happens due to load of responses each day by which response time for the forms api to get responses from questions take longer.

@ManishSolanki  @abm  any thoughts on this ?

Hi @asmit782

Did you used out of the box template to create the flow?

ABM, Mine is completely custom from the top to bottom.

Inside the switches I have 16 different users it identifies through get a row, with 3 email-to options under each, and a teams message. It typically takes under 15seconds to work through the entire flow per each entry.

For some reason, though, in the last 24-48 hours, flows have NOT shown the form entry like it's not seeing it, the form comes through 3-4 hours sometimes 12 hours later, and the form will show that it received it 4-5 hours ago but the flow just got it at exactly hours later from an interval standpoint.

An example:

That's when the flow RAN.

This is when it was submitted in the form:

@abm  I use the Send an email v2 app to do it.

@Kirby1 so it looks like yours is doing the same thing as mine, where it holds it for hours and then sends it exactly to the minute way later. Definitely seems like it could be a bigger issue then. The afternoon of the 21st was when it first started being delated and they were sent out in the early morning of the 22nd. Was yours the same time frame?

I can't confirm that it started on the 21st, as it just started to get reported to me as of early yesterday, but that's when I went back and saw some 3/4a posts when no one was working. It's definitely a microsoft flows issue, not pertaining to our specific flows because it's MULTIPLE flows that never have this problem.

I still continue to have this happen several times a day, it seems to be about 1-5 coming through after hours. These two were submitted at 6:13 and 4:40pm and did not come in until the middle of the night, both show a run time of about 10 seconds. I am not sure what I can do to resolve this.

I want to again emphasize that this is still happening. Just like OP, I think the correlation is SHAREPOINT. We are both utilizing sharepoint and the data shows as flowed to sharepoint at that time, and that is also the same time the FLOW is running. For some users, it's as specific as exactly four hours.

I went back and looked over the last week, and I had two instances where they came in at 1 and 3 am the morning of 4/2, but nothing since  that night. Thats not to say they havent been delayed and still came in during business hours, but at least in the last week we have not had any come in through the night.

Hi

You may need to raise a support ticket with Microsoft to check this. Support could check some logs and determine what's going on behind the scene. You flow and the configs looks good to me.

Thanks
