Multiple Emails Flowing through Send an Email Action

Hi,

We have column called Line Manager of type Person or Group.

Now in the Send an Email action we have mentioned Line Manager Email in the To field under new item created Action.

After item gets created,multiple emails are getting generated to the mentioned email address while creating the item.

Please let me know if I am making any mistake here.

If you don't see a camera in the toolbar, you can do the following:

• take a screenshot using any of the office desktop apps
  • go to the insert ribbon and select screenshot or screen clipping
  • select the scrren you want to capture
• right click on the screenshot in your document and select "save as picture"
  • Save to OneDrive or OneDrive for business
• Share out the image and post a link here

Could you please share a screenshot of your flow's configuration (or share a link to the screenshot)?

Is the Line Manager column a Person or Group type column in your SharePoint list?

Do you enable Multiple selections for the Line Manager column in your SharePoint list?

Further, do you add a "Apply to each" action within your flow?

I suppose that you have enabled Multiple selections for the Line Manager column in your SharePoint list and you add a "Apply to each" action within your flow, is it true?

If you enable Multiple selections for the Line Manager column (Person or Group type column) in your SharePoint list, when you add the Line Manager Email dynamic content within To field of "Send an email" action, the flow would add a "Apply to each" action automatically as below:

When you add multiple person within the Line Manager column, the above flow would send multiple emails.

If you only want to send a single email within your flow, please take a try with the following workaround:

• Add a "When an item is created" trigger, specify Site Address and List Name.
• Add a Variable-> "Initialize variable" action, Name set to LineManagerEmails, Type set to String and Value set to empty.
• Add a "Apply to each" action, input parameter set to output of Line Manager dynamic content of the trigger.
• Within "Apply to each" action, add a Compose action, Inputs set to following formula:

concat(item()?['Email'],';',variables('LineManagerEmails'))

Add a "Set variable" action, Name set to LineManagerEmails, Value set to output of "Compose" action (click "See more" button).

• Under "Apply to each" action, To field set to LineManagerEmails variable (click "See more" button).
