Update one Sharepoint list from another Sharepoint list change

Hi, I'm new and learning Power Automate.  My question pertains to an Automated Flow.  The idea (which I'm testing out for learning purposes), is:

1. Assume there is a parent sp list and a child sp list.  They both have a columns called WatchedColumn and Identifier.  
2. Trigger the flow when anything changes in the parent sp list items.
3. Go into the child sp list and, any record where Identifier value is the same as the parent list's edited item Identifier value, update the child list's WatchedColumn value to whatever the parent list's WatchedColumn value is.

When I tried to do something like this using "When an item or file is modified (Sharepoint)" step, and a couple initialize variables steps, I ran into a brick wall because the step to update the child list depended on knowing the child list's ID value.  This doesn't make sense because even if I have relational data, I can't control or know what the child list's ID value is - I need to be able to tell Flow "Update the child list where COLUMN-X has a value of X" (let me specify what COLUMN-X is - don't relegate me to the ID field).  This is basic foreign key column concept...  I won't know what the ID value of the child record is, but I may know its foreign key column value.

What features of P.A. do I use to achieve more flexibility in specifying which columns to look at?  

PS - what's the difference between "Power Automate Interface Issue" and "Flow Editor Issue" aren't they the same thing

@isaac1 this is easy, here is my flow:

Flow: Yes:

No block

Logic explained :

When item is modified, check if ChildID is null, if yes then create a new item in child list and then update parent item with ChildID else just update the child list with the update values from parent list.

If you already have child items in list then you can create a column in parent list as shown and manually update the values from child list or do as I have shown.

There is an know issue here, in Yes block the flow runs twice and in No blocks runs as expected and only once.

I have a similar issue. 

I am updating a parent sharepoint list from two different sharepoint lists. I need the process to be scalable as we would continue to add the sharepoint lists to append the parent lists.

Each of the child sharepoint list would be in a different channel within the same teams folder. 

I am running into issues. Can you please help?

To be honest with you, I grew tired of this environment ... Wherein I was trying to use Sharepoint as if it were a good relational database, which it is not and never will be.  Trying to reinvent the wheel, trying to reinforce some tiny percentage of relational database principles in the most manual, tedious, ways.  I decided that in doing so, I was becoming those same people that have been so criticized over the years--those who insist on trying to use Excel as if it were a database.  Yes, Flow makes some things possible, but they will never be 100% enforceable.  For example, there is no locking mechanism to ensure that your Key values will be 100% enforced.  

Further, Sharepoint lists are too exposed to the user (and end user should never 'see' a database table, nor have any influence over when the developer decides to add Columns and Constraints).

Ultimately I left that job and went to a SQL Server shop where I could enjoy real, complete, relational database principles in action the way they are supposed to be.

So I cannot answer your question, having removed myself from the Sharepoint environment. Hopefully someone else can.

I have a parent and child list and created a flow that creates an item on the child list based on the status of the parent list.  Works great.  When I update the status of an item on the child list, I would like to see the update on the same item on the parent list.
