Solved: Re: "Insert At" while using lists.

Hello!

Just want to know if there's any way to insert elements into a list as if it was "Insert At" instead of appending them at the end.

Right now I'm just rebuilding the list, which is too inefficient I'd say.

@TPDBS How about using a slice?

How about using a slice
Insert a pair of value and position.
However, for the position at index 0 (first), this method will not work. Try it.

SET List TO [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9]
SET Insert TO [999, 2]
SET Insertvalue TO Insert[0]
SET InsertPosition TO Insert[1]
SET sublist TO List[:InsertPosition] + Insertvalue
Variables.MergeLists FirstList: sublist SecondList: List[InsertPosition:] OutputList=> List

Hello,

As I see, there is no way for you to do that with List in PAD. In my opinion, there is a workaround solution that is to create an Excel worksheet then you can insert row with index and then you can write your data to cell. After all, you need to Read excell to get a data table. I have not tried it yet, that is just my idea.

Hi @TPDBS ,

Unfortunately, there is no action similar to insert at.

You might have to write the logic manually. Using loop and condition.

If you can explain the scenario, I might even write the code for you.

Very interesting, this is sort of what I was looking for. Thank you! Where can I find more info about things like ":". I feel like I'm sometimes limited by not knowing more about the % notation and the expressions I can use inside.

PAD is based on the Robin language, so you should read the Robin documentation. However, please note that PAD is customized and there are some differences.
