Random "identity required" error

For a few days, i have been having a very puzzling error with some of my flows :

Raphaelle_J_0-1688986650968.png

This "identity required" errors happens once in while, and if i relaunch the flow manually with the circular arrow button in the top menu, the flows works perfectly, which means that the input parameters are not the problem.

Plus, the users triggering the flow (with a Form) and myself (my account bears the connections for these flows) are logged-in, so really, i can't figure out what this random "identity required" error is.

This is of the outmost importance since we use this flow in a healthcare setting to inform providers of importants lab tests results.

Thus, any delay in the execution of this flow car endanger patients lives.

Of course, i don't have a Power Automate Premium Account, so no way to contact the support directly to know what is going on.

The only thing to do i could think about is to delete the "List Channels" step and replace it with another "List Channels" action, thinking that maybe a more up-to-date portion of code would work better. But i still got 2 flow failures this morning.

Any help in fixing these errors would be welcomed.

So i made a modification in my flow this morning.

Apparently, loops are only available in power automate desktop, which i do not have, so i tried another strategy :

Raphaelle_J_0-1690986864171.png

Basically i have a first "List channel" action, if it succeeds it goes on to post an adaptive JSON card to the team channel corresponding to the one picked in the Form.

If this step fails, a second "List channel" action is triggered, with the same subsequent action.

If this "List channel 2" fails too, then an email is sent to people able to reboot the flow instance.

Since this morning, i have had 0 errors !

An interesting fact is that i have other flows using the "List channel" action, for the same Team (they use other Forms as input so a different flow is needed).

I did not modify them yet, so they are in their old configuration which also failed in the previous weeks, but they did not fail today.

As if avoiding error in this flow prevented error in other flows... strange !

I am monitoring the flow until the end of the week before declaring Victory ✌️✌️✌️.

Sadly, I didn't have to wait for the weekend. Today I had failures again, so either I didn't hit whatever threshold there is, or it's not related to the number of channels after all.

I've been trying to indice the error by running a test every minute, which worked. (as in it fails)
I tried doing a "Do until" loop, which intuitively, should not be that different from the retry setting, but it seems this is working whereas the retry is not?

First it failed

-> but the second loop succeeded

You don't need Power automate desktop for this, this is from a cloud flow:

You can limit the number of loops in the connector so it doesn't run itself  into the ground.
This has now been running over an hour, every minute. Just a loop of the listing with an exit condition.

No failures so far, but I will follow your example and wait a bit longer before hailing this as a solution 😉

Monitoring my flows today, i realize that some runs are listed as "failures" even though the second "List channels" step worked correctly :

I had just one instance in which the two "list channels" steps failed one after another :

Cool, i will try this.

Let us know how it works out. It's been a quiet day so far, so the production flow didn't execute all that often. No errors mind you. The test flow on the other hand "failed" a rough 60-70 times and as far as I can tell recovered itself on the second loop almost every time.

Few days and a weekend later, no new errors.
Either they fixed it or a workaround is to use a do until loop. (on the channels listing, seems to be the only thing failing)

In either case its no longer an issue for us.

Same encountered.  List Channels failing randomly with Identity required.  Sometimes resubmitting works, sometimes it fails again. Unfortunately, it has cascading effects on other flows. Any Microsoft response?

I started getting this error on a managed solution this weekend. Had been running fine for months. Now resubmitting it multiple times will eventually get it to work. Where is MS on this?
