Can't set dynamic "file" value for excel "get a row" action

I am working on a workflow to automatically upload vendor updates into our own database. They come to us via email daily in an excel document. It's called something along the lines of Orderupdate[Current Date].XLS and that Data is pretty simple, always in a table called Table1 and formatted something like this.

|ORDER| SATUS | DATE |
--------------------------
|12345| OPEN |01/01/2019|
|13289|ON HOLD|03/01/2019|
|54321|SHIPPED|02/01/2019|

It always has the same columns but the rows may increase or decrease. Some rows may be missing information.

The flow I want would read each row, see if the order is already entered in our system. If it is, it would update the existing row. If not, it would create a new entry. When it is done, it would archive the file.

I have all of this proofed out, using a static file and everything in that works. The issue I have is that I can't find an easy way to have Flow read the file that is sent to me. My first flow started with downloading the file from Outlook into OneDrive and then using the file ID as the path but that didn't work.

Then I tired making a copy of the file with a static name in a static folder called "Upload.XLS" and directed the flow to read that file, update records and delte when done. I figured that wouldn't work and when I tried to run the flow again with a new file in the same place, it didn't work.

Is there any way to acheive my desired results? Based on what I've been reading, the answer appears to be "No" but I'm really hoping I'm wrong.

Thanks!

Re: Can't set dynamic "file" value for excel "get a row" action

Hi @RTW,

Yes, as you said, you could set a dynamic content "file" value for excel "get a row" action, you could only choose a existing file before the flow runs.

And if you want the function to get a dynamic content "file" value for a new created file in excel "get a row" action, you could submit an idea to flow idea forum:
