Combine emails for Checkbox Forms

Good evening,

I would like to ask you for advice on managing a form checkbox with MS Flow. Basically I would like to combine the emails associated with two variables into a single email. Instead it forwards me two separate emails.

In your original post, you were building your conditions using a REGIONE dynamic content.  Is there a reason that you are using Area now instead of REGIONE?

Also, in your SharePoint filter, you need to have single quotes around your dynamic content.  For example 

Title eq '[Elemento corre...]'

Yes @Jronash, I am using a test form before implementing it on the main form. I changed REGION to AREA and also reclaimed the filter with title eq 'item()'. But it still has that problem.

Can you post the run history now that you've made your changes?  Last time you posted, the Apply to Each block was being skipped because it wasn't properly associated with the Area checkbox.  Is that still the case?

yes, I posted the history. I have cleaned up with the AREA value but it keeps crashing. Do you think it can't identify the variable?

Looks like it's failing because AREA is a string, not an array.  In the test form you are using, is AREA a checkbox field?

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean.  Why do you need to convert it to an array?

Basically I have the problem in the initialization phase of the email variable. Like it doesn't like the string format. Can i fix this problem?

If you read through the error message you posted, you will see that your loop is not trying to loop over your email variable.  It's trying to loop over something else.  I can't tell what it is or why it is failing from the information you have provided.

yes you are right, in fact I have modified the variables.

You're still trying to loop over the Email variable.  That won't work because the Email variable is empty at that point in the flow.  There is no point in this process where you should loop over the Email variable.

You need to be looping over Region or Area, or whatever the checkbox field is from your form.

Oooookay.

I haven't used checkboxes with Microsoft Forms before, so I ran some tests.  And it seems that Forms returns checkbox data as an array, but then wraps it in a string.  So instead of getting a nice clean array like this:

["Option 1","Option 3"]

You get this monstrosity:

"[\"Option 1\",\"Option 3\"]"

This can only be a bug in Microsoft Forms - I've never seen any other platform do it this way, and there's no reason to do it this way.  Unfortunately, it makes your job a lot more difficult.

In order to use this in your flow, you're going to have to strip some of those special characters out of the checkbox data and then convert it to an array.  It will take a few different expressions to do this.  I worry that this flow is already far too complex for such a relatively simple task, but if you want to keep going I can write up the expressions you would need to make the conversion.

Sure, in fact it seemed strange to me, but why is it recognized when checking the flow, or do we need to make a change to that character in sharepoint? Then we can opt for an alternative flow?

The expression you will need to convert your Area field from a string to an array is as follows.  Put this in a Compose action.

split(substring(outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/r283454529b174d648dc15b46d7f955b0'],2,sub(length(outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/r283454529b174d648dc15b46d7f955b0']),4)), '","')

Anytime you see outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/r283454529b174d648dc15b46d7f955b0'] in that expression, you need to replace it with the Area dynamic content in your flow.

Then, go to your Apply to each 2 loop and set it to loop over the output from the Compose action you just created, rather than the Area field or the Email variable.
