Multiple File Uploads - Form to Email

Hi Team,

I have seen many videos on creating flows where the upload from a form is attached to an email as an attachment, HOWEVER, I have multiple questions in my form that require an upload and I wondered if there is any way I can create a flow where it gathers all the attachments from the form and attaches them to an email?

I am finding that I can only find videos onhow to upload one attachment or multiple from the same question.

I hope this makes sense. I have 4 questions that require file uploads.

Ohh, that's why. You should select the dynamic content from power automate under get response details not the field name in forms. After that, it's good to go! 😀

Hmm, I'm guessing that all the upload fields in forms are not required? Like you can leave it blank? If that's the case we should add a validation to check if the question is empty before we union it.

Here is the flow:

We will replace the compose action of JSON into a variable with a type of array. After that, we will add a condition to check if the upload question is empty.

Apply that to the rest of questions.

Then, we will be also replacing the union expression with the updated variables.
union(union(union(variables('JSON 1'),variables('JSON 2')),variables('JSON 3')),variables('JSON 4'))

The flow is pretty much the same, we just added a condition for an empty file upload.

I am going to apologise in advance! I think I have made a mess of all of this.

I am having trouble, it won't let me do the 'empty' condition... when I select the question, it says the expression is not valid (see below)

empty('outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/rb7054d551b4f46d7b95528b38a233b84']')

Are we changing the original JSON 1 to initialise variable array? Sorry, I am very new at power automate. I will have another go but if you could show me your complete flow from top to bottom that would be great. That way I can see where I am going wrong.

I assume that at the very end, it would go into a send email option etc

Try to hit ok again in the empty expression, same scenario with the one you have encountered. It usually happens but your expression is correct.

Then after that, add the Multiple Files variable in the outlook attachments.

Hi Carlos,

STILL having problems and it arises in the first control with empty('Question1'). When I select the question from the dynamic content it does not save, it says it's invalid. So I switch back to the expression field and it is still saying it is invalid!

I must not be cut out for power automate!!! 😂

It has let me save using the following information:

is this OK?

Also, in the value section of the set variable (in the image below)

do I put the following:

union(union(union(variables('JSON 1'),variables('JSON 2')),variables('JSON 3')),variables('JSON 4'))

Hi @AshleaLu , You're pretty close. The empty should not have ' ' in between the parenthesis. I just put it to indicate the dynamic content of the question.

It is not okay, see my first reply to answer your 1st question.

It should be the json of the first question. json(Dynamic content of your first question). Followed by the second question in the next condition and so on.

The union should be in the last part after all the conditions. After that, I think the flow will now work! 😊

I HAVE DONE IT!! I just now need to do the email option and when I do this, do I just select "multiple files" for the attachments?

Yeah it's a pretty long discussion haha. The expression should be like this:
items('Apply_to_each')['name']

Now it will run perfectly.

I just wanted to know how I go about having emails send without my email attached to them.

For example, when the email response send out, it comes from my email but I want to use another email address bu it says I don't have permissions to send on behalf of, but I have all permissions for that account...

All of a sudden, my flow has broken down and it seems to be in the strings at the end of the flow in the email. Nothing has changed and it was working fine until I updated my password on MS which I have rectified and logged back in but for some reason I am receiving the following. Can you help?
