3.18071.36 Update Issues

I have about 14 iPad Minis managed through MDM that I use for our construction business.

1. This 3.18071.36 update removed/reset the "Location" permissions on my iPad Mini 4's running iOS 11.4.  When they opened the app (3.18071.36 iOS version and app version), it would say error, location not found.
   1. I exported the app from the QA Environment to Productoin Environment 
   2. I fixed it by:
      1. Opening the app in Production Environment studio, saving again, publishing again.
      2. Then, doing 1 of 2 things:
         1. If the app would prompt for allowing location permission, click allow.
         2. If not:

Sometimes, in the location scenario and for other random apps and on random iPads, an updated app would just get stuck saying "opening" and never change.  Even after closing and opening, rebooting the iPad, and even after logging the user in and out.  I could only fix it by uninstalling PowerApps and installing again.  Then, it would say "downloading", then "opening", then "getting your data".  Again, randomly an app on a random iPad.  Never the same one on all effected.  This has happened for me the past many updates.  I will go in early in the morning, push out updates to PowerApps via MDM, then push out my tested in QA updates to Production and open the apps on each iPad to see if they would install the update or get stuck at "opening".

Can you provide the session ID? To get session ID, login to PowerApps, click on the hamburger menu on the top left corner, click on Session details, and record the session ID.  Thanks.

@daviddraper2, this is a known issue that we have when you export an app. The current workaround for this is to republish it after the app is exported.

Republish it immediately after publishing the uploaded export?

Or are you saying that if the "Opening..." forever issue happens, that re-publishing after I see that fixes that?

Hi

Im facing the same issue for the last couple of days.

I have embedded my app in the SharePoint Site and meanwhile in PowerApps Web I can see my ViewerForm, the website shows: 

"Getting your data", and it never changes. Funny enough, I displayed the app in the iphone version of PowerApps and the data appeared, until yesterday.

Plus, I have never exported the app.

Could you please advise?

I think I have managed to solve the mistery, by setting up correctly the Item property. e.g. to be First(Table2).

@daviddraper2, the republishing fixes the location permission being reset. Do you think you could collect a session id for us with regards to the opening forever issue?

Does a Session ID change?

Here is one from an iPad that, 2 weeks ago, had the "opening..." forever issue.

Yes the session id changes every time you reopen PowerApps. Was that a session with an opening forever in it?
