At what point Is it necessary to perform a Refresh(dbo) for SQL Server views or tables?

At what point Is it necessary to perform a Refresh(dbo) for SQL Server views or tables?

Does PowerApps ever do a background refresh periodically?

Does PowerApps do a Refresh(dbo) on App OnStart ?

Trying to understand at what point, when and how frequent a Refresh(dbo) needs to be put in code.

Thank you,

Hi @vsslasd,

For SQL Server Views, you will need to take use of the Refresh() function, for example:

Refresh('[dbo].[SQLView]')

For the SQL Table, if you would like to see the update changes, then you will also need a refresh.

A query for the data source would be sent when the App is first loading, you may take a look at the following blog for the details:

Performance consideration in PowerApps

Basically, any changes/Request made to the data source directly would trigger a refresh of the data source.

There is no background refresh for PowerApps, based on what I know.

Michael
