Could not allow required permission for Azure Blob and Powerapps Notification in Canvas app

Hello, currently I have two canvas apps that implement Azure Blob for storage and Powerapps Notificaiton. I currently share the apps with few other users for testing, I already shared the app and Connections permissions with those users. But somehow when they access the canvas app, it still requires the permission.

Sometimes the cookies can get stuck and it doe snot update with the new permission, so see if having the user try the below helps:

  1. Try having the users that are getting this error to go to make.powerapps.com -> Data -> Connections -> Find the relevant Connection(s) -> Press Ellipses -> From Dropdown, select "Delete" to delete the connection. Then relaunch the app. They should be prompted for the permission to allow again as if they are first time users of the app - maybe this could help.
  2.  Try having the users that are getting this error to attempt from another browser, other than the one tried at first (Edge, Firefox, Chrome etc.) and have user clear all cache and cookies as well and retry, perhaps in combination with #1 as well (i.e. try this and then #1).
  3. Try remove data source(s) and connection(s) from PowerApps Studio, save and publish the app, then re-add data source and then again re-save then re-publish the app, then after that, have users try #2, then #1, and see if it helps.
    1. Or if this will cause an issue to delete and re-add the sources, try just pressing refresh button on data source, making minor change on the app, saving and publishing.
  4. Try to have the users attempt from different device that was not used before, especially a device using the PowerApps app if possible. If they have mobile device not used before, try to have them use that - and if possible, using the PowerApps App (although the Chrome mobile browser may be fine too). Also, if they have mobile device and did not try it there, ask them to download PowerApps app from app store then sign in through there - do they still get the error through there?
  5. If any of the above did not help, you can try opening ticket from https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/ to get help from Microsoft on this.

Dear @poweractivate , i want to update to you after some tests:

  • We tried on three different browser, all with cleared cache and cookies and we still had the same problems.
  • I tried to remove and add the connection again but it still does not work.
  • But when we tested on mobile devices through the PowerApps mobile app, it allows us to choose the option Allow to access the app.

I think this is a problem related to the PowerApps website. I need the website to work because I need my colleagues to help me working on the app.

Try to share the connection itself to the user.

Some connections must be shared.

We tested and Azure Blob Storage is one of those connectors that must be shared to the user.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/share-app-resources

  1. Go to make.powerapps.com
  2. Select Data
  3. Select Connections
  4. Look for your Connection, Azure Blob Storage
  5. Select Ellipses near Azure Blob Storage
  6. Select Share
  7.  Share it with the Users who get that error
  8. Done

Yes, most connectors do NOT have the option to share.

However, Azure Blob Storage is one of those Connectors which does have that option, and it does need to be shared usually to each user, that may be why you got that error.

Make sure to look for Azure Blob Storage then share it with the users who got that error shown in your screenshot.

Let us know if this helped you.

Dear @poweractivate , in my original post I already stated that I shared my connection with other users already, and the apps still ask for permission on the web, but allow in the mobile version.

Aside from starting support ticket with Microsoft, we are not sure what else to suggest you.

Perhaps someone else here has further insight into your specific issue.

Dear @poweractivate, yes I think I need to discuss with my superior about sending a ticket to Microsoft about this matter. Thank you for your dedicated help.

Best Regards,

Minh Pham

Hi @MinhPham96 ,

Does your issue mean the users cannot click the allow button?

From the images, we can know that the users need access to these premium connections, so please check if the user PowerApps license is Office 365 plan.

Only PowerApps standalone plan(Per app/Per user) have access to these premium connections.

Sik

Dear @v-siky-msft , yes we all have Office 365 and PowerApps plan. Like I mentioned, the user can press the Allow button on the mobile version but can not in the web version.

@MinhPham96Some questions:

Have users clicked "Ask for access"?

Did the trial plan expire? the trial plan can only be tried out for 30 days.

Are users able to login App on mobile?
