Custom form from SPO list not displaying correctly

Hi All,
I am having a display issue in a custom form I created from a SPO list.

I have a column with a dropdown to a lookup list that has:
location name
Location email
GM Email

On change of the dropdown, I load 2 variables VarLocEmail, VarGMeamil
In the assigned To: column I have If(FormMode.Edit=0,VarLOCEmail,Parent.Default) When I am not in edit mode it should display whatever is in the SPO list column correct?
this works great, it loads the email address as expected, and I can add other emails address separated by ;.
all alerts go to all in the assigned To:
the list now has the 2 or more email addresses in LOCEamil.

When I click on the item in the list it opens my custom form but the assigned To: only has the location email not the other email addresses.
This has to be a display issue in my form, because the list without the form is fine, and the FLOW sends out the correct emails.

 

If I remove the custom form and open an item with multiple Addressees they all show.

 

Any ideas?

What is the data type for VarLOCEmail?  If the column in your list is a multi choice list the Parent.Default will refer to that column and return a Table type if multiple items selected and a Record type if not. When you have multiple selected what is VarLOCEmail?

If VarLOCEmail is just a string with comma separated values, you may need to set the To to a Filter result value from the Choices from the selection column in order for it to select the proper values.

Long time 🙂

 

Do you mean to change it to:

If(SharePointForm1.Mode.Edit = 0,VarLOCEmail,Parent.Default)

 

That has the same display issue..

Or

If( SharePointForm1.Mode = FormMode.Edit, ..., ...)

Regardless, this is likely due to what the data type is for VarLOCEmail.

Thanks, but I am not understanding the filter, why doesn't the column display what's in the column? 

the data type is simple single line 255 char

I have other columns that have more than 1 word and they display correctly.  The trick I am playing is with FLOW to concate the emails so they all go out to the recipients.  If I had you;me;them that is what the text box should display no?

I didn't think it should be that difficult displaying a text field from a list..

But It is PA 🙂

So let me make sure I understand what you are saying. You have a SP list with a Lookup Column in it. The Lookup column points to another SP list that contains the possible values for the list.

In your form you have a Drop down (Or is it a Combo Box?) that is bound to that column. Q: Is the column a Multi Select Lookup or Single Select?

The OnChange() for that drop down sets two variables from the selected item. 

You have a separate column called "To" that, depending on the Form Mode, will either retrieve it's value from the Parent Card or from the variable set in the OnChange Event for you Lookup Column drop down.

Assuming that the drop down is multi select, the "To" column will show all selected values from the Dropdown.

 

Does the drop down display correctly when loading the form?

What value is saved to the "To" column in the list?

What does your OnChange actually do?

Sorry, I may not have been clear enough, and hopefully I can make it clearer than mud :).

I have a combo box on my form that pulls the location names from a separate lookup list in SP.  

This column is not in my list that I am loading.  This is used purely to get the email addresses that FLOW will send.

All columns loaded from this lookup are single line of text 255 char.  

On change I am loading variables from the lookup list to load my list.

If the form is not in edit mode I want it to display what's in the list's column.   

If it's in edit mode I want it it to display the variable that gets loaded when you select a location.   

If you don't select a location there is nothing to display and you can enter what you would like. 

When I view the item it should show what's in the list's column.

Super User of the Month | Ahmed Salih

We're thrilled to announce that Ahmed Salih is our Super User of the Month for April 2024. Ahmed has been one of our most active Super Users this year--in fact, he kicked off the year in our Community with this great video reminder of why being a Super User has been so important to him!   Ahmed is the Senior Power Platform Architect at Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. He's been a Super User for two seasons and is also a Microsoft MVP!
