Data Input Changed from Numeric to Text

I have an app that is linked to a SP list. There were columns that when the app was initially built, were number columns. That has changed and the columns now take in a single line of text. I have updated the corresponding data cards so that the text field format is now Text and the Update value on the data card no longer includes Value() and instead is just TextInput.Text. However, when I try to submit the form with non-numeric values, I still get an error message. Is there any way to fix this without deleting and re-adding the data card?

Did you refresh the data source after you made the schema change to the SharePoint list?  Its on the '...' menu next to the data source in the data sources list.  This is what picks up the new schema of the list.  You may still need to drop and re-add the data cards, but until you do the refresh it won't work correctly.

Hi @Pstork1  I have refreshed the data source and saved reloaded the app and still have the issue.

Then the next step is to remove and re-add the data cards.  It isn't always necessary, but often is.  If you've refreshed the schema already there really is no other way.

I am in the same scenario but I tried removing and readding the data cards but I'm still getting the error message. I have:

1. Refreshed the data

2. Removed data cards, refreshed data and readded the data cards

3. Changed the format of the Text Input from Number to Text

4. Under Advanced Options of the Text Input, changed the Format from TextFormat.Number to TextFormat.Text

5. Changed the Parent card Update function from Value(DataCardValue.Text) to DataCardValue.Text

But I'm still getting the same error for the Parent Card under the Update function, saying that it can't convert the Text to a number, even though I have removed the Value function. Have tried restoring a previous version of the app, refreshing etc but still getting the error.

Anything else I can try?

EDIT - Found a solution:

When I was readding the cards, they were being added in automatically as Custom cards instead of Text cards. To resolve this, I removed the data source from the table and readded it. When PowerApps prompted to replace data cards, I selected 'No thanks'. I then was able to delete and re-add the data cards as before but they were now being correctly added as Text cards instead of custom cards. This resolved the 'convert to number' problem. This saved me 1 day of work of rebuilding lots of forms from scratch and embarrassing myself infront of all of my high code colleagues.
