Dataverse connection cannot be added to an in-Progress App which already has some data imported from Excel connection

Hi.. I am working on a PowerApps in my Developer environment. I have developed a few screens using the data imported from the Excel documents on my PC. Now I also need to connect to a custom Dataverse table. But I am getting the error - "Using these connections together conflicts with the company data loss prevention policies." I have also created a new environment level DLP policy for my environment and moved both Excel and Dataverse to Business group, but it does not help. Even I have tried moving all connections to Business and also Non-business groups but issue remain same. Please let me know if you have some solution for this. Thanks.

Hi @v-pragupta,

Sounds like there is another policy applied on the environment or a tenant-wide policy where these 2 connectors are not in the same group. When you have multiple DLP policies applied on an environment, the most restrictive combination will apply.

Thanks @ChrisPiasecki . Is there any recommended solution or workaround to resolve this issue so that I can complete the App?

I am inside my developer environment with my name. I created this after subscribing to PowerApps Developer Plan.  I was thinking I have access to create, use, test different features here. I should be able to control the access and policies for this environment as it bears my name. Also its seems counter intuitive that more specific environment level policies are overwritten by broader tenant level policies. If this is the case then there should not be a choice to let users create this policy.

If it work like this then I'm afraid the developer environment does not look to me so helpful and does not serve the purpose for which it was created.

Hi @v-pragupta,

Unfortunately the developer environment is provisioned in your organization's tenant so you are still subject to DLP policies they have setup. You can setup your own Developer tenant via the Microsoft 365 Developer Plan. Then you can provision a Power Apps Developer Plan from within that tenant and have full control.

Thanks again, @ChrisPiasecki . I tried a fresh App using Dataverse as the only connection in the App. Even that is not working. Connection creation is okay, but when I select any table to create app it fails to create the App and throws below error. That should have worked as there is no other connection so there would be no policy violation. No? And so it seems Dataverse is of no use as I am not able to create any App with or without other connectors. Do you have any idea about this?

Hi @v-pragupta,

I would suggest reaching out to your Power Platform admin team to look into the DLP Policies or if they have specifically setup some special limitations on Developer environments in the tenant.
