Don't select anything on Navigate

Hi there,

Silly question here?

For the Navigate to.... Screen.... is possible to "Do not select nothing"

I mean in my app when I am navigating from one screen to a second screen always in the second screen the app select by itself the gallery one, and I don't want nothing selected. It is possible?

Hi @sajarac 

Yes that's possible. Let's assume that your second screen contains a form control, and that the item property of the form references the selected item in Gallery1.

If you were to call the NewForm function before the call to Navigate, that would effectively place the form in new mode and there wouldn't be a record selected in the control.

Hi, thank you very much for your prompt response. Basically I have a Welcome Screen with a "Start" button, once the user select that button the app navigates to the second screen, in that screen I have a Gallery1 with the items from my Share Point List. Always the app lands in the first item in that Gallery, but for some strange reason that item is not selected so, this mean that I have to click in the second item in the gallery make a click then come back to the first item in the gallery make a click again and now that item is in fact selected.

Thanks for the clarification. If you were to explicitly set the Default property of Gallery1 to the first item, that may solve the problem.

First(BrowseGallery1.AllItems)

With a default item specified, hopefully, this would prevent you from needing to click the second item, and to reselect the first item.

OK, let's split this into parts:

The First(............AllItems) works now no item is selected as default.

Also I have a rectangle in the gallery with the visible property of ThisItem.IsSelected basically is a yellow rectangle when the user select that item it is highlighted. After implementing  your formula  now the first item in the gallery doesn't get the highlighted option but the rest of the items yes.

Another strange thing?

I don't quite understand why that's happening.

If you were to change the visible property of your rectangle to the following, does that make a difference?

(ThisItem.IsSelected And (!IsBlank(Gallery1.Selected)))

This should make the rectangle visible only if it's selected and if there's an item definitely selected in the gallery.

Nothing, same thing the first item is not selected
