First PowerApp: Getting last item from SharePoint list and writing new item into SharePoint list

Hello,

first of: I'm really sorry this is such a beginner's issue.

I've been playing around with PowerApps for a few days now and I would like to build the first app that will actually be usable for something.

I would like for different schools to report to me the number of students they currently have and the school's status (3 options in a dropdown). I would like to create a PowerApp that will

- show the date when they reported last

- show the number of students from their last report

- their status from the last report.

Then I want them to have one form field where they can give me the new number and a dropdown menu that will show them the 3 options for the status and have one button to send.

And I want that form to write this into the Sharepoint list (later, I'm hoping to get this into excel tables, but I can do that with PowerAutomate).

AFAIR I want to use individual forms in Powerapps but I don't know how to reference the Sharpoint list (I have it connected as a datasource).

Maybe you guys could help me out, how to get the lates item from a specific column into a form and
then how to write an entry into Sharepoint!

Thank you so much in advance!

Ok, I figured out how to create the form to add new items to Sharepoint.

This video helped me out:

PowerApps Single Form App to Save Data in SharePoint List

Now, I'm still looking to display the last values from the SharePoint list and set the default value of the other entry form to the last values.

Success!!!

I managed to figure it out.

Steps:

- I created a form

- I changed the mode to view

- I changed the value for 'item' of the entire form to =last(nameofmylist)

And then I took the form to fill in and also changed the value for item to =last(nameofmylist)

and then I made sure the fields had has default value: Parent.Default

And that solved it for me....

So, off to the next task:

I want to change the form (some fields will not be available to some) depending on who logs in.

Any tipps on that one?

Arrrgh!

I just tried it on my phone.

On the desktop in the powerapps studio it seems to work fine, but I get an unkown error on my phone.

It does not get the information from SharePoint and only shows me the form meant to be filled in (without the default values it should be getting from Sharepoint)
