Formula is OK, Dropdown don't show values

Hi there, a question about Dropdowns.

When we are trying to edit values from the form, as you can see in the picture below, the formula is OK and it gathers value from the Detail screen and it shows the value 'Među-Zahtjev', that value needs to be also visible in the drop-down label as default in Edit screen, but it isn't.

"Odaberite" is one item inside of dropdown. Thing is that dropdowns with the same configuration work, other ones don't which is quite confusing.

Do you know maybe what could be the issue, as I am said before, 80% of dropdowns in Edit mode works fine, 20% have missing displayed value?

My thought is the Items property of the Dropdown may not have data. Does the item's property of the dropdown ever change? Can you able to see the dropdown has value?

Can you try the default property of dropdown to Parent.Default?

Yes, dropdown does have data, dropdown can be changed and also, when I click on dropdown, I can see all configured values.

Already tried that (Parent.Default), it gives values in formula tab but again, nothing happens in dropdown, it stays on --Odaberite-- while it should be 'Među-zahtjev' as you can see in the picture.

I believe you are using Dropdown not Combo box right. The reason is, If this is a combo box then we need to DefaultSelecteditems property.

What is the items property of the dropdown?

Correct, this we are speaking about Dropdown, not Combo Box.

Item is;

["--Odaberite--"; "Među-zahtjev"; "Završni zahtjev"]

As you can see on behalf of the picture, dropdown only shows --Odaberite-- while it should "Među-zahtjev"... Tried everything that I know but no solution...

It's like in edit mode, dropdown will override data source and he will set --Odaberite-- as default value, like it's hardcoded.

Are these two values the same? In other words, do the values in the data source have spaces at the end?

Could you add a label to test this?

You could try this formula on the Text property of label:

'Pregled registra prijeboja'.Selected.Vrsta_ZNS="Među-Zahtjev"

If the result is false , Please check if there is a space at the beginning or end of the value.

If the result is true, I think this is a bug.

Dropdown controls occasionally show wrong values for me. 

I usually remove the formulas for the items property and default property and re-add them in order to fix this occasional problem.

You can also try to refresh your connection(datasource). If this still doesn't solve your problem, I suggest you use the combobox control, as @StalinPonnusamy 's suggestion.

Finally, I made a test for you for your information.

At first, it was the same as your result showed '--Odaberite--'  . Later I removed the formula for Default property and re-added it and it started working.

You won't believe it but, problem was in data source (SQL Server). Datatype for dropdowns that are not working was nchar(20) and varchar(20) for the ones that are working fine. I was trying everything but neither solution was providing an visible values in dropdowns. After I've changed datatype in SQL Server to varchar(20), everything is working perfectly!

So, conclusion is. If you are working with dropdowns and SQL Server, use only varchar datatype. I assume it will work with txt also, but in this case I was trying to exclude txt datatype from my database.
