Gallery filled with the same item from sharepoint list

Hi,

Im confused. I have a problem with my gallery.  I have one item in my Sharepoint list, but my gallery shows countless rows of the same record of it and makes it very hard to work with. Since I have a large gallery, with many column and row fields i made it so that a patch function updates the sharepoint list. Once I was done writing the patch formula the problem started.

Any ideas what is causing this issue? My gallery is not directly connected to the datasource but trough a collection of it.

That sounds good.  What I'm looking for is going to be the formula where you actually write data to the datasource and the formula where you add or alter it in the collection.

I cant really find in monitoring tool what is the problem. 

This is on start of the app. 

And when I select to enter Grid View, editview.

 I think monitoring tool does not show me at what point it collects all those duplicates. Because now they show only in app. Once i exit edit mode the rows are still in the app but not saved to Sharepoint.

I fixed one issue where DefaultSelectedItems was set to a different controls default.

It took some time for the list to update but app uploaded the 100+ duplicates

App on start

This is how my app gallery Connects to data.

Homescreen, OnVisible - Select(btnLoadData)

btnLoadData(button), OnSelect - ClearCollect(colGridData, 'Kvalitetskontroll')

The Edit Grid mode button, edit mode On Select –

Once I Select Edit Grid View it loads the gallery with those duplicates.

The New Item button to create a new record, OnSelect  - Set(varNumber,varNumber+1);

Collect(colGridData, Patch(varNewRecord, {ID:varNumber}))

For my gallery Items property is colGridDate(Collection)

For all of the Gallery Controls OnSelect and OnChange are Select(Parent)

One row in sharepoint looks something like this in app. I couldnt screenshot the whole gallery since it is too large. It should have about 10 more columns with the same type of controls. OBJ DEL and SUB DEL are labels.

So starting off, I see an issue with the Patch statement you have in the Edit Grid Mode button.  What is the logic of that button?

First it looks like you are using some extra Created column in your collection to indicate if the record exists or not.  You don't need that as you can simply look at the ID of the record.  If it is blank, then it is not created.

Also in your New Item button action, you are setting the ID yourself to a number...this is a no-no!  Do not set the ID, always leave that blank.  Your list handles the ID, not you.

Your collect statement should only be Collect(colGridData, varNewRecord)  ID will already be blank from the Defaults function.

How are you getting the values of the dropdowns into your collection?  That part I am not seeing in any of your formulas.

I removed the ID functions.

Idea behind that button is like in a sharepoint list. I can edit the gallery in a grid view type. And when I exit it patches my sharepoint list. 

For all of the dropdown values Items is Choices([@'Kvalitetskontroll'].Columnname) and DefaultSelectedItems is ThisItem.ColumnName, for text inputs it is Default - ThisItem.ColumnName I copied the first few fields from a form I inserted into the app. Then I just coped the control and edited the Items andor DefaultSelectedItems/Default values.

Hei,

Dont't worry about it. Since the table is so large even without the bug it would be a bit too slow to be user friendly. I decided to recreate it into a multiple screen form which works smoothly.

But I'm still curios to why the problem occurred. Maybe I will get back to building something similar an see if the problem still persists.
