HOW TO DO A LOGIN WITH OFFICE 365 OR AZURE AD

Good day.

I want to see if it is possible to login with powerapps, that it is validated with the Office 365 or Azure AD credentials.

With his username and real password, if both are correct, will be able to access to another windows or interface, if not, it will show an error.  

I would like to know if this is possible and how it would be done.

Hi,

I'm not sure why you are trying to do this - in order to access/use the published Power App at all, they will already have to be logged in and authenticated with O365/AzureAD.

Could you explain your use case a bit more?

I am creating an application that manages business inventory. My database is in the common data service, and there I have different tables or entities to save the elements for example, computers o something like that. However, I need to save the user's information there, their username, email and password, but they are the same credentials as Office 365 or AzureAD.

I do this because users will also have their roles, which will differentiate them from other types of users.

You can retrieve the email, fullname, and image of the current user by calling the User function. Therefore, there is no need to provide an additional login screen for your app.

As a tip, you can store the details of the current user through the OnStart property of your app.

Set(varCurrentUser, User())

You can then retrieve the email address of the current user by calling varCurrentUser.Email.

Also, it is worth noting that the CDS automatically stores the 'created by' and last modified user details without you needing to do anything in your app.

I realize this, but I have a situation where there will be a single "shared" Azure enrolled laptop that is logged in with a generic/shared account. This shared laptop is in an inventory room where teachers will be checking out items. They don't (won't) deal with the initial few moments it takes to create the first initial login of their personal AAD account. It's dumb as they are impatient beings that don't understand that it will only take a few moments the very first time to login to the device. Therefore I'm trying to figure out a way to create a login screen within the PowerApp using their m365/AAD creds so items will still get checked out under that teachers account...

Is this even possible, or will I have to make them create a sub account used only for for the PowerApp that would then use SharePoint List as the backend database for their sub accounts since they can't wait the moment or two it takes to login to the shared laptop?

P.S. Sorry for reviving this ancient thread, I just can't find what I'm looking to do anywhere; it's all, "there's no reason because their already auth'ed via PowerApp login or use SPL/Excel which isn't my scenario as they are all using one, shared generic Azure account on that the shared laptop stays logged in with... 🤦‍♂️ We had already went over this over and over with the people the app was for and they understood that logging into the laptop with their own account was the most easy and sure fire way to prevent items being checked out under wrong users etc. but now that the school year has started they say it's just not feasible which is BS. I even tried to get them to make blocks of time for them to login the first time to prevent a backup of people waiting for accounts to be made on the local machine, but still no.

I have had a hard time with this too. I made an inventory checkout app and would like to have it on an ipad next to what will be checked out. I would like authentication so people can only check things out to themselves. The way to accomplish this seems to be through Power Pages, but that is another subscription... I would really like to know if anyone is able to do this in Power Apps.
