Hello All,

I have two sharepoint list connected to Power apps. In one list i had provided access to all managers and in another list access has been provided to only Admin Team. In the log in screen i had added two button tag to variables to check if logged in user is Manager or an Admin, based on that it will navigate to the respective screen.

My issue is since access is provided to only one of the list, Managers are getting the error notification on start up while logging in as

"Error when trying to retrieve data from the network: PWD-List_Managers failed: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) clientRequestId: 4f0eb229-*****-*****-a201-********* serviceRequestId: 4f0eb229-****-4037-a201-*********"

Is there any way to hide the error notification, with out providing access to both list?

@rajeshr1 - you will need to provide users with access to both lists. There is no way around this but you can show/hide disable controls/functionality based on the logged in User.

Yes, Reza makes great content in his YouTube channel, I had already watched this video.

I don't want the user getting access to underling data even in the back end. I think the only option to split the App for Manager and Admin

I'm not sure what you're trying to do, but you can use to hide the error by using IfError.

For best practice, use @Amik's suggestion.

Hi @rajeshr1 , Here is 3rd option that I would like to give you which require little efforts but it will be worth:

Create one more SP list and named it as "UserInfo".
This newly created list will hold the information of all users who will be accessing your app.
This newly list will have 2 columns, one would be email address of user and the other column would be Role of the user.
Now on the app start, declare one global variable as "gblvar_UserRole" which will hold the logged in user role.

Set(
    gblvar_UserRole,
    LookUp(
        UserInfo,
        Title = User().Email
    ).Role
);

Then, there is property at app level named as "OnError", please use this code

If(
    gblvar_UserRole = "Admin" And FirstError.Message = "Error when trying to retrieve data from the network: PWD-List_Managers failed: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) clientRequestId: 4f0eb229-*****-*****-a201-********* serviceRequestId: 4f0eb229-****-4037-a201-*********",
    Notify(
        FirstError.Message,
        NotificationType.Error
    )
)

With this, error will only occur for Admins and for manager there will be no errors.

I tried this and it is working for me. And I am sure it will work for you too, however in case if this doesn't work then you can go with @Amik or @cha_cha suggestions.
