How to show items in gallery based on this condition

So I have 3 lists as displayed in the image, they each have their primary keys, displayed as ''PK'' and foreign keys, displayed as "FK"

My gallery is showing all items from Finance with the Sub-Project ID as a foreign key to identify the sub-project.

I have a Dropdown for the table "Project" and I want the gallery to only display the Finance rows that belong to the selected Project.

How do I make a filter in Power Apps that does a double join to only show the finance rows that belong to a certain Project that I selected in the dropdown? (not to a certain sub-project)

Hi @Shoekstra ,

I tested the following method to display finance rows:

Since I don't have specific data, I created three collections based on the pictures you provided.

vxiaochenmsft_1-1665713002699.png

vxiaochenmsft_2-1665713011380.png

Create a dropdown list with the items of Project.

vxiaochenmsft_0-1665713096466.png

Create a gallery with items set as follows.

vxiaochenmsft_1-1665713117438.png

Filter(
    Finance,
    SubProjectID in Filter(
        SubProject,
        ProjectID in Filter(
            Project,
            Dropdown2.SelectedText.Value in ID
        ).ID
    ).ID
)

The results will display different information based on your selection from the dropdown.

Hi Wearsky,

First of all thanks for your reply. I think it's working, however the APP becomes insanely slow when i'm selecting somtehing from the dropdown, you know whats causing this and how to fix it?

Sometimes it freezes for like 30 seconds and i cannot select anything

Hi @Shoekstra ,

Have a good day.

What is your data source? Sql? sharepoint?

Is there a lot of data in your table? Is the amount of data more than 2000?

If it's because of too much data, please try saving the data to the collection when you open the app and filtering the data in the collection.

Best Regards,

Wearsky

Hi Wearsky,

I'm using sharepoint right now, there are about 1600 sub-projects rows and 90 projects rows, but there are some other lists being used also. the finance part doesnt have too much data yet, about 90 rows.

I will try saving the data to the collection, thanks for the tip! Not sure how that works yet but i'll try to figure it out.

Also one last question: I have 1 more dropdown that I'd like to be filtered (it's about which quarter of the year it is) which is registered in the sub-project list. do you know how i can combine the Filter from earlier with the following filter:

Filter(Finance, 'Sub-Project ID' in Filter(Sub-Project, DropQ.SelectedText.Value = 'Qnumber').ID)

I wanna be able to use both filters on the gallery at the same time, they do work perfect seperately but I can't seem to combine them properly.

Thanks for the help.

Kind regards.
