Launch URL not working

This should be so simple. I want to hyperlink from my form to another URL. I've tried the Launch function from a button, an icon, a label. And I've tried setting the custom card Display Mode to View. I've tried setting the button/icon to Display Mode View. I just can't get it to work. When I preview the app, the button or icon with the Launch function behind it doesn't work. I've used a very simple formula in the OnSelect : Launch("www.google.com").

Please help. I'm probably missing something quite simple.

Your button must have be in DisplayMode Edit to be clickable. That’s most likely the issue.

You can also try using the full address in your function like this if my first idea does not work.

Launch(“https://www.google.com“)

Hi. Thanks for the swift response. Unfortunately, I've tried it in edit mode but still doesn't work. I suspect the functionality is not available from within data cards. Not sure why...

You definitely can Launch a URL from within a DataCard.  I suggest you take some screenshots to share as a next step here.  Show me what control you are putting code into the OnSelect of, the left Tree menu and also show the formula you are using.  This is possible!

Could you tell me the form's mode?

If the form's mode is View, since the button is inside the datacard, even if you've changed its mode to edit, it will load as view mode automatically.

The children part's mode will change based on parent part mode automatically.

When the button's mode is view, it will be disabled. It should be Edit mode.

So to solve this problem ,here are two tips that you could refer:

1)change the form's mode to edit or new

2) insert the button outside the form

If the problem still exists, please show me mode details. Screenshoots will be better.

I am having a new issue with Launch within PowerApps.  Previously (as of 2 weeks ago), I had set-up a Launch trigger off of a button outside of a form within my PowerApp.  The launch was to a SharePoint .pdf document housed in a library and worked both on a desktop and mobile device (IOS).  However, I noticed today that the launch functionality only continues to work on a desktop.  Mobile use of the app, upon clicking of the button, will open OneDrive (as it did 2 weeks ago), but will only open to "Shared Libraries" .  Therefore, a SharePoint subsite must first be selected and further drilled down to the particular library and subsequent desired document trying to be launched rather than directly opening upon button selection within the app.  Any ideas on what has changed in (2) weeks that would remove the mobile viability of a url launch? @v-yutliu-msft
